I think he'll be in his mid to late 30's by the time he gets there, and by then the Klitchkos will be retired, Haye too

And assuming he fills out in weight properly, and doesn't just jump up there from light heavy, he could end up being very comfortable there

Ward is bigger than both Roy and Toney. He shredded Dawson who beat Adamek who is now a credible heavy. Ward could easily move up later in his career and be successful. I see Ward as 4 division champ before hes done

Jones had enough power for Ruiz to respect him. For all Wards talents he does not possess SMW power, never mind HW. Besides, the HW's are all bigger now and the size disparity would be huge, it will never happen.

Nonsense. Eddie Chambers is featherfisted a d could probably fight at light heavyweight if he wanted, Adamek and Dimentrenko didnt wall through his punches. Did Vitali walk through Chris Byrds punches? Chris Byrd who had a respectable career at heavyweight despite fighting as a middleweight as an amateur?

Ward has more than enough skill to pick off the slow plodders who make up half the heavyweights

You don't bin Ward wouldnt completely school Adamek now?

Always thought he could do it. And I still stand by it. Totally feasible for him to emulate RJJ.

That's an old school attitude. Archie Moore style.

If Toney can do it,so can Ward. Toney a 5'9 small MW looked decent at 217 as a HW.
Ward could be 220 one day. Good for him but ti's a long way off.

I should know better than to engage in conversation with someone who doesn't know the meaning of 'floored' but I will do so in spite of myself. Chambers is 6ft and doesn't hold a title, likewise Adamek. All the present belt holders, ie Wlad and Vitali, are 6 ' 6" plus, and all the guys that are rated in the division are of similar size (Fury, Price, Hellenius, etc), with the sole exception of Haye who would smack the **** out of most HWs. Ward won't step up unless it's against a HW who is noticeably smaller than the rest of the division, and it isn't happening until at least one of the Klits retire.

Let's have this conversation in 5 years, when Ward will still be cherry-picking at SMW and LHW, like he has done since he got out of the Super 6 contract.

Cherrypicking? He picked out the number one light heavy. Who else is he meant to fight? Should he just bash Froch and Kessler again? Some boxing fans are never pleased.

Picking out the number one in a division don't count unless you go to his division, and that's that only fight Ward has had since the S6 ended, while Froch has beaten Mack, destroyed Bute, and has Kessler and either Stephenson or Ward lined up. Being talented don't count for **** if you don't fight or choose fights that suit you and you alone.
