Andre Ward being real on GGG!

That has to be one of the few times I've seen him interviewed where he hasn't come off badly and put his foot in his mouth. A lot of what he said made sense.

But he is still showing some naivety in regards to self promotion based upon what he said.

no he didn't, he fought and beat only 2 notable names (Froch and Kessler), the rest were either dragged up MW, drained LWH's or crude, come-forward sluggers with no defense

 

We simply don't know all that GGGs capable of... equally the same could be said for Ward. 2 unbeaten fighters who have thoroughly dominated everyone they've fought - it means we don't know the true ceiling of either, though obviously Ward has been tested at the higher level.

Just a real fkn shame this fight is looking increasingly unlikely.

Gennady Golovkin has 350 Amatuer fights, 24 pro fights

Ward has 120 Amatuer fights, 28 pro fights

Ward has nothing Golovkin hasn't seen befor

A difference is that Ward is a natural LHW while Golovkin is a natural MW this could favor Ward if they fight at 168 or higher

Gold > Silver @ Olympia not question but it doesn't mean much in the proboxing later like you said you can't compare it with pro boxing.

Of course with Ward or Klitschko there are some examples of dominating Gold winners in pro boxing but you have to agree that some silver winner like Virgil Hill, Chris Byrd or Sultan Ibragimow had more succes at professional boxing than gold winners like
Solis or Harrison

 

Dren, let them keep setting GG up for failure. They did the same thing with Garcia and Matthyse. They didn't use the "Danny can't sell" moniker. They said Danny was scared.

Now Ward can't sell, he never sold out in Cali, he doesn't leave home, he's hurt, we offered him 164. I said all along that it wasn't a duck, but GG's fans were so quick to protect him that they bad mouthed Ward. This is a man who has fought world class opponents to in Ward.

Don't worry Dren, GG will get hit back HARD one day just like Kostya was, just like Wlad was and just like Kov (Kov proved himself) was. It always happens. ALWAYS!

Ward is calling out GGG saying he wants to fight him now, but he says he doesnt want Kovalev yet because all big fights need to be built up. Golovkin vs Ward is just as big as Kovalev vs Ward. I think he doesnt want either, he will have another 3 easy fights and retire in my opinion.

 

he said he would go to 160 for Mayweather, has called out a MW for months now... we all see a pattern here, wanting to drag up smaller guys so he can wrestle and headbutt them to death
