That fact that the biased judges gave Ward all of the last 6 rounds is what gave Ward the victory. No objective and clear-eyed boxing fan can watch those rounds without feeling that Kova won 2-3 of those rds easily. Horrible judging. Kova was robbed of the victory and worse, the title of PFP #1.
All three gave Kovalev round 3, which is also arguably unfair. It works both ways. Better to look at the fight and see which rounds were close and try and determine who deserved the win rather than to analyze the judges scorecards. If we do as I suggest (examine the fight ourselves) we see that if you give Ward 3 and 12 it's a clear path to victory.
But that's just your scorecard and your justification for a Ward win. The great majority of opinions so far seem to be that Kova should have been the rightful victor. 3 polls I've see since last night have Kovalev as the clear winner. And you can't sweep the suspicious scoring by the judges in the last 6 rounds under the rug. It was extremely biased scoring for Ward.
It's strange...I scored the fight 114-113 for Ward, but if Kov had gotten the decision, I wouldn't have argued against it. So yes, I agree that he won but it wasn't a clear victory. It was very very close.
Don't try to be funny, if you know anything about boxing you know that Ward lost, if you don't know you're just as blind as the judges.
