Ward is in his prime and nowhere near an Atg yet.
Lewis was already an Atg going into this fight against vitali. Lewis was also shot to **** and stopped Vitali by ripping his eyeball half off.

A similar situation will be if Lewis back in 1998 fought Vitali, tko6, than retired.

    Lewis in 03 was done.

    Ward is not.

    Horrible comparison.

True, but Kovalev should then get his belts back to be honest.

I've always brought this back up over the years...

Ward gave an interview after the Kessler fight where he very forwardly stated he wanted to retire around the age of 30. He said, "I want to retire on top and have people asking me, 'why?'"

Please do not compare this Billy Goat cheat Ward to the best HW champ since Ali Lennox Lewis.
Lennox kicked Vitali's ass Ward STOLE Sergey's titles & he knows it
I told you all along what egotistical over rated coward he was. See I was right

i agree completely cj, i also agree with what you said about lewis, lewis had no problem facing the best, away from home or anywhere. I don't hold it against him not rematching vitali, because lewis had already beaten he's era, he knew vitali was a lion who would be even stronger in the rematch ,when he was getting older. he left at the right time, even if a lot of boxing fans felt cheated

But he's NOT on top nowhere near. He got a VERY debateable suspect decision over Sergey Kovalev.
The vast majority of boxing people, writers & fans thought Kovalev won the fight. I'm one of them
He's "fought" FIVE times in nearly 6 years. Only once against a champion the others were club fighters
his " warm up " fights ROFL Ward KNOWS!! he really lost that fight CST is right he is a DOUCHBAG!!!!

GGG NEVER ducked him no legitimate offer was ever made. Anyway Ward could not make 168 let alone 164 which would have been a fair c/w fight. As my old Dad would say Ward is like a fart in a colander he cant get out because of the holes. All mouth & no substance

No way Ward is HOF worthy on that career. The Super Six was gifted to him he had all the advantages given him never left home to fight. Whats he done since? fought 4 clubfighters & was awarded a decision he didn't deserve in a title fight Its 6 years since the Super Six !!!! Jeez if that's HOF worthy vote Charlie Zelenoff in

The HoF is not what it used to be, I mean Froch is going to get in, isn't he? McGuigan, Gatti, etc. are all in and they are not better boxers than Ward.

Stop it , Lets not act like Ward took a hellacious beating from start to finish .

Ward got roughed up , outworked and clearly lost the fight . Yes , Kovalev beat the man .

But it was no Maidana/Broner beatdown . Far from it .

Yep this is true, makes no matter he really won seven rounds in reality we all knew he had to win nine rounds or get the knock out,he immediately regretted you could tell that?

This just tells me his true thoughts on the outcome of this fight .

If he truly believe he was the rightful winner and really did beat Kovalev . He should have no problem whatsoever fighting Kovalev in a 2nd fight and should NOT be looking for a way out by retirement .

Also The boxing world is turning on Ward letting him know the harsh reality , He's not liking it at all . He knows he was defeated .

Maybe not but at least they both boxed, imagine Gatti v Ward if one were wrestling all night,it wouldn't have happened which is the reason Ward wins his fights but will never be remembered for any exciting fights,he's the most boring boxer out there which is sad because the guy has skill if he only chose to box
