Let's look at this objectively... please. You are Dre you go up in weight then you fight the guy everyone called for you to fight. After GGG the one that was the original boogeyman ducked you. Why would I put myself in a situation where I get no credit at all again to make people who don't even like me feel good?! F' that I would tell main events to **** off especially Kov he didn't take his loss graciously yes you're going to be bitter after a fight like that. But his grumbling about robbery are just going to leave a bad taste in Dre's mouth and he will be less inclined to rematch.

Kov vs Ward was a close fight, point blank period a close fight that could go either way. The only people don't think that are keyboard warriors. Everyone calling it a robbery is being mad disrespectful, to both fighters.

His statement should have been " I don't agree with the judges decision, and seeing how close it is I hope Andre honors the rematch clause" then he obviously has to take a smaller cut of the pie not much smaller but still smaller.

First post *shines shoes and straightens tie*

Smaller cut of the pie? Do you know that Kovalev earned less than half what Ward did the first fight? The PPV sales dictate that the pot will be no bigger in a rematch. How small a slice of this pie should Kov take? Maybe Ward will be happy letting him lick the plate?

Don't sit there dictating what a fighter, ie the guy that actually steps through the ropes and takes the shots, should say after a fight that himself and approx. 75% of media and fans thought he won. I actually think he's been quite restrained. Let's not kid ourselves that Ward has been anything like a gracious 'winner'. If he had shutout Kovalev you can bet Ward would be full of praise for him. He knows he got lucky.

As for the 'only people that think it wasn't a go either way kind of fight are keyboard warriors'...........are you for real? So, someone doesn't agree with you and they are keyboard warriors? What makes your opinion golden? You know, if Kovalev had got the decision, there wouldn't be all these threads and discussions all over the internet. Wonder why.

If he said you know I just don't have it physically like I once did, and I always said I'd go out on top, so I'm retiring (once- for good, no comebacks). I personally wouldn't have a problem with that,

Sucks the fight played out like it did but many people including myself were predicting ugly Ward UD. It is what it is, sometimes the big fights lay an egg.

Let him retire, one less mauler/spoiler to watch. Let's get to Thurman-Garcia, that one's gonna be fun

    I totally agree.

Or, maybe he takes the rematch and that's his final fight, win or lose.

Ward's had a great career. There's not a lot left to do and there may not be a lot left in the tank.

Well, he also said he wants to do what RJJ did and become HW champ before he retires:

    http://www.boxingnews24.com/2016/11/andre-ward-wants-fight-heavyweight-title/

So...which statement do we hold him to? If ya'll want to pick and choose and hold people to statements (ie "anyone from 154 - 168") then please do so consistently, even when it involves your favorite fighter.

I would be very surprised if Ward retired! I don't think he does, not until the rematch.

If he legit retires and never comes back that would be really odd consdeiring he is top 3 p4p , undefeated and in his (near) prime.

Broner lost a clear decision, but he didn't get a beatdown.
He was in the fight the whole time.
He got hurt, but he hurt back too Maidana a few times, notably in the eleventh.

Ward never once hurt Kovalev, never controlled the pace of a single round.
He was on survival (read: headbutt, low blows, wrestling, tackling) the whole duration after the knockdown.

AB was competitive at best and hurt Chino only 1 time in the 12th , That's all he did . Despite that . He took a beating , was dropped twice and suffered a fractured cheekbone in the fight .

I agree with everything you said about Ward .
