Ward is one of the sports greatest fighters. He has wiped his division clean, and shown that he can outclass fighters like Froch and Kessler.

GGG is the games #1 offense. Nobody cuts off the ring like GGG, nobody hits with the accuracy of GGG, and nobody hits as hard as GGG (160/168 ). GGG is a relentless combination puncher, that you cannot hide from, and his chin and defense seem very sound.

Ward isn't going to knock GGG out. He isn't going to win a decision either. Golovkin will find his target, and when he does - Ward is going to get hurt. The things that make Ward a great fighter will vanish after he gets clubbed. Ward isn't the kind of guy that can go to war, and he doesn't have the chin for it. Ward is safety first, and its over when he gets caught.

The chance of GGG catching Ward once, is far greater than Ward evading for the whole 12rnds.

That's the thing, GGG will eventually catch ward clean and it's all down to wether ward gets hurt or not, because if he does get hurt then golovkin finishes him. I would still take ward by decision if I was putting money on though, it's a tough one to call.

    It's a real-life chess match, IMO.

GGG isn't the greatest in the clinch, Ward LOVES the inside.
GGG isn't the greatest at going back, Ward will give him something to think about.

But I do agree that once GGG catches him (and he will catch him), Ward will stay down.

The thing is, is that does GGG get him out early? No? If that's the case, can Ward last 20-36 minutes of that kind of power? I seriously doubt it.

Either GGG gets him within 5-6, or Ward makes it look like the Kessler fight (clinching, head butting etc) and GGG gets stopped on cuts.

the super six has been radically overrated. ward isn't all that. no one below 175 has a prayer vs triple G and every last one of them damn well knows it.

Why because Rubio is on Wards level or because Rubio looked like he just laid down and quit!

Ward isn't going to risk brain damage by trying too hard to get up either.

There are levels in boxing and Golovkin and Ward are a level above their respective competition to date. When they meet it will be a very particular match up that we don't see every day. Ward has a very good jab himself and he can chose to box at times or to come on the inside and prevent GGG that way from getting the full leverage on his punches. With Wards inactivity its getting more and more of winnable fight for Golovkin but Ward is a great fighter himself.

I'm certain Ward's team has already figured out they cannot afford to give Golovkin too many opportunities to land clean. Ward didn't exactly stand and trade with Abraham, Froch, and Kessler either...all big punchers. GGG is more skilled than these 3. But, I'm not certain he really hits that much harder.

GGG will have to work hard to land anything clean. And he will have to deal with Ward's offense, which is being underrated. Ward is on a different level than anything GGG has seen as a pro. And he has a natural size advantage to boot. It's a tough fight for GGG. It's acceptable competition for Ward, considering GGG is smaller but very good. Ward's big enough and talented enough to move up to 175 and possibly rule there too.

andre ward fights on the inside and mugs his opponents. I think ward will be in triple g's chest, pushing ggg back which will force golovkin to fight off the back foot or on the inside. Ward's big head, ability to catch and shoot on the inside would make it interesting.

Only fight out there where I could see GGG losing... But I'd still take Golovkin by KO. :)

GGG can definitely fight on the inside with ward. Holding is not going to word against a fighter like GGG.

Ward is better on the inside, he'd push GGG around, he's bigger, stronger and he really does know how to box there well, he can defend and find openings easily.
