Andre Ward Could Really Learn Some Class From Roman Gonzalez (A True Champ)

Big Gonzales fan but wish he felt the same about a rematch with Estrada. That's the match most want to see I think...

 

Class comes from character. Andre is a great competitive athlete, but his character is poor. I doubt he would even understand what "class" means, if you explained it to him.

 

What did he do exactly that offends everyone? He never cussed anyone out, no trouble, no women, no drugs, very quiet, very religious, so why would anyone hate Ward? He is not a punk or a kiss ass? What does he owe Kovalev, boxing or boxing fans? I'm serious. I never understood the hate for Ward and no one ever explains it logically either. Some one just says," I hate Andre Ward", and it becomes a puppet show of agreement.

 

I never said I hate Andre. So you should correct that.

I was one of his biggest fans, and always defended him, until he started lying about GGG, claiming he was ducked. And please don't post 20 pages about how he didn't lie, because we all know he did and we're tired of the arguing.

In this case, not giving a rematch to an opponent after you got a gift decision is poor character. I don't expect him to admit he lost. But it's wrong not to give a rematch.

 

Not you exclusively, I apologize for calling you out like that, I should have made that question more general. I was really just looking for all the re Kovalev fight hatred for Ward.

Funny how that works. It started with Kessler. Ward became the dirtiest most boring fighter after that. People hate winners and try to find any little thing to discredit his accomplishments and character. Ward owes nobody nothing. Great champ. Was ducked by GGG and now people are trying to cling to a moral victory in the Kovalev fight knowing damn well if the tables were turned, they would be praising Kovalev. Double standards. They exist. Ward is a guy who is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't either way. Happens only to the best and dominant.

Meanwhile these same guys will sit here and tell you Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight.

Based on everything I've read, I believe that neither side really really wants a rematch, or at least not during the time since it happened until now. Both named large purse numbers. I think Roman said 1 million and Estrada also said 1 million (which would make Estrada more delusional, nobody would argue he warranted or warrants the same payday for that fight as Roman does). The hope and hype for that fight has died way down. Estrada now 15 months without fighting a ranked or quality opponent.

 

I wasn't surprised when I read this. I don't feel like there was a massive demand for this rematch but obviously Chocolatito want's piece of mind and to remove all doubts. I had him winning a close competitive fight and I applaud him for taking the fight again. I feel RG has moved up one division too high and will struggle from this point on. Right now though, he is without a doubt P4P 1.

 

He's very hypocrtical in general and his affiliation with Skyman doesn't help either

 

Cuz he's dishonest as hell, arrogant as hell, and zero humility. Makes it worse that he uses God's name, which in fact turns people off of God more, which is the exact OPPOSITE of what you're supposed to do if you're a professed Christian.
