Andre Ward spent his entire career trying to get smaller man Golovkin into the ring with him. And when Chad Dawson stepped up to the plate, Ward drained him. Ward could have made the fight happen at LHW, since that has always been his real weight, but he would never give an opponent a fair fight. He had to have an advantage against every opponent, which was usually home advantage.

You can make up all of the excuses that you want. You can't say you'll fight anyone from 154 to 168, and then duck Ward, and Lara. Golovkin's scalp would have looked nice hanging next to Kovalev's.

 

If it was good enough for Kovalev it should have been good enough for GGG. Kovalev never argued about anything , all he wanted was for the fight to get made.

Ward was willing to split the purse 50/50 with GGG. Thats as fair as it gets. GGG just didn't want it. He passed it up to fight the likes of Dom Wade , Kell Brook and David Lemiuex
