This only further shows that not only is that not true but that he is a B-Side fighter in a match up with GGG or Kovalev. Ward will never be a matinee idol like he thinks he is. His reluctance to take bigger fights and demand multi millions of dollars from HBO for tuneups shows how delusional he really is.

Your right having done a quick google BET's highest rated show is Being Mary Jane which averaged 2.9 million viewers in it's 2nd season. While HBO's highest rated show GOT averaged 6.88 million. So clearly while BET is in more homes being basic cable, it's shows have a smaller audience.

If we use those 2 shows as a base line Ward/Smith did the equivalent of 766K viewers on HBO. Which to be fair is still bad but not as bad as initially thought.

 

The same night, I watched what many thought was a foty candidate. And guess what, it was not Ward who was involved in it.

He hasn't fought in 19 months, and there's potentially some good-great fights at SMW for him.

Let him do all he can at SMW first. He's said if he moves up, he won't want to go back down.

A little patience is needed.

Kov's not going anywhere.

It would just be silly for Ward to try and fight Kov now. And if he did and DeGale gets two SMW belts, or/and GGG moved up, then everyone would be demanding that Ward moved back down.

You need to appreciate the circumstances involved, and particular the business side of things.

There's still things for him to achieve at SMW.

 

They're unrealistic fights at this stage.
