considering it was on BET I would say those numbers are Fair since this was the first time a boxing match is aired on BET (Keep in mind not everyone watching BET and probably not familiar with that channel !!!). If you compare this fight to a fight that was on PPV like Pacquiao vs Algieri which was generate between 300-400k buys than you ask yourself was those numbers really that bad considering it was on BET?

People look at those numbers and jump to conclusions, but the fact of the matter is Ward's HBO ratings were on par with GGG's ratings. BET hasnt aired boxing since the 90's, and career wise, more people have seen Ward fight than GGG.

 

We had BET as part of a package until Canadian broadcasting freed the slaves (subscribers) from the tyranny of the big 3 corporations.

First thing I canceled was BET

I now have 6 channels, 3 of them HBO.
