    It's just a sorry state of affairs. But according to the reports I've read, he's ranked at no.6 by the WBO at SMW. So the questions that need to be asked are:

    If he hasn't beaten anybody, how on earth is he ranked as the 6th best SMW by the WBO?

    Why have the N.S.A.C. not sanctioned it if he's ranked that high by the WBO?

    When was the last time the N.S.A.C made this kind of decision?

    His upcoming fight serves two purposes: a tuneup and showcase for a new and wider audience.

    Before the Goosen lawsuit, Ward signed on to fight with Pavli: who at the time was one of the bigger names in the division and a very likely highlight-reel candidate for his resume.

    I'm starting to think he may never want to step up as long as he gets these paydays for easy fights. I said it in a different thread, if he wants to fight SMWs, he can at least defend the WBA title. If he's really moving up, he should at least fight a fringe level LHW next.

    They are playing it safe, and it could possibly backfire.
    But i doubt Ward will be content with just fighting C level contenders.

    I said this ages ago and got tarred for it

    I simply posed the question, what motivation would ward have to face tough competition when he can face bums for 2 million in Oakland?

    everyone said I was insane but these are the facts, ward can get 2 million for facing paul smith, I doubt he would get more than 4 million for facing kovalev.

    in all honesty a rational person would choose 2 million for a glorified sparring session against a fat useless middleweight han 4 million max for a fight against a 175 pound killer
