Have you been following Bute's career recently? You know the days of the "lightning lucian bute battleship" are over, right?

Life and Death with Grachev (The guy Edwin Rodriguez starched in 1)? Did you catch that?

I have no doubt of Ward's skills, but Paul Smith and the names that's been thrown around are SMWs. Those fights are not gonna prepare him for Kovalev. He should be chasin the likes of Gonzalez, Braehmer or Fonfara like you said.

Do you think he was sifting through Boxrec and was like "Rohan Murdock -- it's him or nothing!"

It's a little more complicated then that.

How does Bute vs Ward correlate at all to Sanders/Wlad????

And another thing......Universum did offer Sanders another payday vs Wladimir, but he balked, dropped his WBO title and fought Vitali instead.

As for Purrity.....Wlad was winning 9-1 and gassed.

I guess he coulda done like Stevenson and rematched the 25-23 journeyman, but he instead chose to fight 2 time World Champion Axel Shultz who was a huge draw in Germany and had twice beaten Foreman and Moorer. :hi:

Nop. But I think that he makes it difficult in many ways for promoters to work with him, he seems too self-absorbed.

    You know how it correlates.

Nobody offered Sanders ****.:rofl Sanders would've jumped at the chance to make money in a rematch being that he didn't fight for over a year until he fought who, big brother I believe!?
You rematch the men who beat you and the fans judge you. you don't make a busines decision and hope fans forget that you gassed being that you won a gold medal at the Olympics. Foh.

I would love Bute going crazy on Ward like Shannon Briggs gone on Wlad.

virtually all fighters have "promoter trouble". In this case, what did he do? If he didn't hand-pick Australian sensation Rohan Murdock, what did he do to make things difficult, exactly?

Did he refuse a fight against a worthy opponent? Like, say, Blake Caparelo?

e.g.: "Blake? Caparello? Are you kidding!!?? NO. He's a beast! I am not ready for Caparello, no way, no how! And that's a no to Cedric Agnew as well."

Why are you asking me to point out exact details, I don't have inside info for you, I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make here.

I made a general statement about him being a difficult case for the promoters based on what's been happening in the past few years and I can see that being a reason as to why he's been having troubles here as well as onwards, not only that he's a rather unattractive proposition for many top fighters to take up on so that may lead to him being avoided by some as well. What do you want from me exactly?

I also felt that Pascal beat him pretty convincingly. I've seen people in hindsight claim it was close; it wasn't. 117-111 Pascal and Bute was hurt badly a number of times and lost his rounds big.
