Just wanted to start the Andre Ward bandwagon. I've seen the kid fight in the olympics and was impressed. I like his counterpunching, he's quick and has got some power. I see him dominating the super middle division. I think that one knock down taught him a lot, and I am actually kinda glad he learned that lesson early in his pro career. I think he will benefit from it. What do you guys think - future champ, or future chump?

    SHut your face idiot boy.

Ward got plenty of hype and TV time up until he got rocked in one fight and dropped in another.

I think his handlers wanted to slow the pace a bit a not have him suffer a loss or another KD that will **** with his head forever.

Ward is from the BAY!I have supported him since day 1.

    nice fighter
    good stylist
like his switch hitting and his willingness to plant and try and get his man out of there when hurt.

    good variety on his punches.

lacks head movenmebnt and keeps his chin up both on attack and defense and with his driopping of the left hand in orthodox stance is open to big rights.

but at this moment he is progressing ok, but he has not had a test yet as is the norm with most prospects.

just like khan his every mistake is magnified when in reality they are both just works in progress and not near the finished article.

I would like to see Ward step up the competition. Allan Green says he is in the mix for a fight with him. . . I'd love to see that get done.

Way too early for that type of fight for Ward.

Green has had nearly double the fights and is 5 years older. Not to mention that Green has fought 1 top 10 fighter who fought for a title already while Ward hasnt even come close to that level.

Gold doesnt always translate into Gold in the professional ranks.

Ward has great reflexes and excellent skills. He can become a title holder if he is brought up correctly and if his chin can hold up.

his chin is a big worry.

i saw that early fight when he got hurt against a total nobody. he looked gone for a split second. :patsch

then he was decked a few fights ago. :yep

his power isn't the best either.

he's not got the sort of punch to bail him out.

i like watching him fight though.

    class stylist. :bbb

not seen the fight where he went down or what kind of fighter put him down.

saw him in a few fights though and liked what i saw.

in the olympics he was being outboxed but his oponent run out of steam, power wise he looked ok to me, hard enough to keep his opponent honest, but if you have a dodgy chin , unless you have a style that protects it, you will get exposed.

I do not think his chin is dodgy. I only say this because he did get back up and beat his oppenent. If a fighter does that, it tells me alot about his heart which kind of goes hand in hand with your chin. He thought he could have steamrolled through his opposition and got caught. I dont think we will see that ever again from him and his chin should hold up. Like I said, I am glad he got rocked early in his pro career so he learns from it not to take anybody lightly and keep his gaurd up. When he went down though, he did get hurt. It wasn't a flash knockdown or anything.
