Andre Ward: Golovkin Fight Only Happens @ 175!!!

Wards resume is 100000 light years beyond that of ggg dummy. He's now moved on to bigger and better things like kovalev. Ward has dared to be great and is ggg isnt.

 

Give it time, Ward has been given better breaks considering he is born in America and so had the best contacts.

GGG had to work from nothing and only now his career is beginning to blossom. In due course his record will surpass your God.

 

When your best win is Martin Murray a guy who never won a world title you have a lot of work cut out for you. Lmfao he better get busy he has more fights than ward and is older another pathetic fact.

 

Bottom line is this is a business and it's prize fighting, not pride fighting. I'm a bigger GGG fan than a Ward fan, but I'm going to play it down the middle here:

Ward only wanted GGG because he was the best payday and biggest fight left for him. Ward didn't represent that for GGG- Canelo was and is. Andre didn't present a compelling enough offer to stop GGG from focusing on Canelo. Ward moved on. GGG is staying the course.

And guess what? Nobody- and I mean nobody- in boxing, as a professional or a fan, would ever turn away from a potential Canelo fight for a Ward fight. Nor would they steer their fighter in that direction. Nobody hates money that much.

You know what else? If Canelo were a potential fight for Andre, he'd have dropped targeting GGG in a heartbeat to target Canelo, too. Would I blame him? Of course not! Dude's been fighting his whole life, and he should be targeting the biggest money he can get now. That's also why both of these guys were going after Chavez. Things can end in a flash in this sport, and neither GGG or Ward diehards are going to be footing their bills after retirement no matter how much their fans like them.

We could go back on forth on what each side has said all day long, but those details don't really matter at the end of it. Neither man is scared of the other one. Neither one was or is ducking. Everyone's out looking for the biggest payday and platform they can get (preferably at the best risk/reward ratio they can find), and acting accordingly.

Let it die, and let's hope we see GGG-Canelo next year, and that Ward-Kovalev comes off without a hitch and is a great fight.

 

Based on what his wins over Martin Murray? GGG has never fought anyone as good as these 3. Hell a WW in Brook outboxed and exposed his ass.

Thanks, chief. I may be a big fan, but I don't see why that means I should buy into this myth that GGG's somehow not bound by the same goals practically every other good pro boxer wants- championships, a fat bank account, and to not have their brains smashed to bits while doing it. I think the guys who call that cowardice have never had to rely on boxing to pay the rent.

I used to play devil's advocate on Andre, but there's no need since I think he's done pulling a Winky Wright and sabotaging himself. The guy's moved on from his promotional issues and the GGG fight and gone to his next biggest option, which is also a riskier fight IMO. I'm glad to see him back. As for now, the press ought to be focusing on that instead of beating the dead horse of Ward-GGG.

 

GGG never wanted any part of Ward. There is no upside for him. All he has coming from an encounter with Ward is a total loss. He knows that and his team knows that.
