    His chin is really bad i have seen him hurt so many times and he was dropped and hurt badly buy a guy with 25 loses

    How bad would you say his chin is?

    the thing with this arguement is, kovalev is a much bigger puncher than darnell boone but ward aint. so i never really got that retort.

    Really bad, but his defence in the past has made up for it. That is why any time a fighter gets within breathing distance of him he will do what Wladimir does and hug them for their life.

    The difference is Ward will add in unethical street fighting. We are talking illegal blows such as nasty grazing headbutts to open up cuts and then elbows to rough up his opponent even further to get any little advantage he can while his Oakland selected referee looks the other way.

    On Saturday night, Kovalev will not tolerate such barbarism and will do his utmost to teach Ward a very harsh lesson

    And, in the eyes of many, Boone won his fight with Kovalev and was robbed by the judges. The OP has to be a right turnip, to use Boone as a stick to beat Ward with....

    The guy you speak of with 25 loses, is it the same guy that nearly beat Kovalev and fought him to a split decision... That guy!

    How many has Ward actually been dropped and/or hurt by gatekeepers? I can't think of too many instances off the top of my head. I'm not saying Ward has a tremendous chin, but I don't necessarily think it's awful, either. I believe valid questions exist regarding his chin, and if anyone is going to help answer those questions, surely it is Krusher Kovalev.

    If I had to guess, I'd say his chin is slightly above average as far as the top level goes. But his defensive instincts and ring smarts are well above average. So that makes it trickier to get to his chin solidly, than it would with other fighters. But Kovalev is well schooled with good ring smarts as well, and he finds ways to deliver his devastating power. More good questions going in.

    And these are just some of the questions that make this fight super intriguing.

    I think Wards chin is good, it isn't granite but solid enough but Kovalev isn't just a good or solid puncher, he is a vicious puncher so we will see just how good Ward's chin is in a few days.

    I would agree with you. If you think about it, watch the style of John Ruiz prior to the David Tua match and his prospects of surviving against top quality fighters using that style vs the clinching, dirty, wrestling style that he used afterward.

    I see Ward as a more skillful inside fighter similar to Ruiz at times. It works very well for him and frustrates the hell out of his opponents, as well as avoiding the big shots on his chin.

    They both got dropped by the same guy! Only difference is Ward won a UD and Kov won a SD! So to rate Kov's chin worse than Wards is a bit stupid, especially considering Kov got knocked out cold in the Ams!
