Andre Ward is a boring crier that nobody wants to see. Sure he's the champ but if guys can make money elsewhere why would they chase him. HE NEEDS THEM not the other way around, that is the harsh reality for AW. If he wants the big paydays he has to go out and earn them. It's as simple as that. If he wants the $ and the legacy he needs to put the work in he can't expect guys to gravitate around him, he is NOT the main draw in the division. He needs to get himself out of court, into the gym and onto a plane. It's the only way AW can gain the recognition he so clearly craves and believes he deserves.
He is officially the #1 fighter at Super Middleweight and is supposed to be pursued by others. Sadly, with terrible promotion and management very few fans realize his official status in the division.
No one has to pursue him if they can make plenty of money elsewhere. Andre HAS to pursue the fights. Many champions have done this to gain recognition. Andre has to jump on a plane and travel to stamp his mark on the boxing world but he is too spoiled and he refuses.
He would probably only need to do it once to turn the spotlight fully back onto him and thus force everyone to go for him if they want that spotlight
Even though his management and promotion is beyond terrible as it is, getting him to travel to England where robberies and fiascoes are guaranteed would further confirm his management's incompetence. He is the main man in the division and should be challenged by the rest. Obviously the rest don't seem to pay him any attention due to the risk and little reward he provides thanks to his terrible management.
That is the most idiotic statement I've every read in a boxing forum....I see all the big 168 players moving on and around Ward and making good money. And I don't even mean Froch, Golovkin, and Chavez. Abraham, Stegilz, Bika, Dirrell (the younger), Groves, Degale. None of those guys need Ward, it not like he's a PPV fighter and this is coming from a Ward fan. He needs to stop being delusional about his self worth and fight. Ward is high risk, low reward....no need for any boxer with the world to lose to fight him because most boxers realize that the chance of beating Ward is at about 0.00%
And his boring boxing style and unwillingness to travel. He thinks boxers should be falling at his knees... why should they if they can make money elsewhere? He needs them, not the other way round. Like it or loathe it these are the facts. Andre needs to swallow his pride and travel. saying 'robberies in England' is just an excuse to not travel.
I personally don't consider his fighting style boring, it's a special style that only few hardcore boxing fans can understand and appreciate. It's not surprising that the majority, mostly casuals or simple minded people, don't appreciate a style they don't understand. With that said, Mayweather's fighting style isn't generally appealing either, yet his management found a way through it without the need to travel. No, Ward doesn't need to swallow anything and travel. Big fights/events take place in America. That's where every foreign fighter aims to travel to in order to become a global superstar. There's a reason the likes of Hatton, Eubank, Khan, Benn, Hamed, Groves, Froch, Fury, Brook(soon), Woods, Bruno and many more went to America at some point. Ward's problem isn't traveling nor his fighting style, it's his management and promotion. A perfect similar example of Ward was Paul Williams in his best day. Williams forces a fight with Concreto, wins and yet he's hardly talked about or discussed while Concreto moves on to fight Cotto in a major event. Another perfect example is Tim Witherspoon's victory over Bruno in England, he went over there with his title, knocked Bruno out and handed him his very first loss only to be underpaid and completely ignored in the long run due to his problems with his management and promotion. Bruno of course moved on to far bigger things as if the loss to Witherspoon never happened. There are countless other examples of what horrific management/promotion could do to a fighter out there, I suggest you look into them. Traveling to England(where controversy and robbery is guaranteed) to fight someone he already beat is NOT the solution to Ward's problem. No offense, but only a blind Ward hater or an ignorant person would suggest traveling to England when all the comical robberies clearly take place there.
I agree Ward vs Froch has happened and doesn't need to happen again. There are other better options for both fighters IMO. I dont beleive England is anymore corrupt than America though , just its a pointless fight for both now with regards to where they are in their careers
I dont think anyone was suggesting that he allow use of UK officials/judges. Ward would have enough leverage to demand neutral officials and known US judges.
Then you cant claim he chased after the big fights to 'become the man' by entering the Super six like like 5 other guys and to do so he asked for special dispensation, so why should he get so much credit for entering a competition in which he wanted advantages the others didnt seek? Whether he likes it or not he is not ppv alone so go get the fights which will make it ppv. Or sit and do fck all, but dont just moan.
You actually make some debatable points, but your sweeping gereralisations and arrogance make you sound like a twat.
