Agree Ward is brilliant and is the heir to the throne. Froch is supposed to be the No.2 in the division and Ward totally dominated and outclassed him. I can see Ward being undefeated for a long time.
SOB was the only boxer in the tournament who did not have to travel, he always fights in his home town with his personal referee and judges. I think Ward should fight Stevenson or Kovalev next, and in a neutral venue...........
he got the hometown fights cause 1) he wouldn't travel 2) doesn't sell 3) wouldn't have mattered anyway
like it or not, hes the king at SMW by beating all the top contenders in 2 years ward not selling has more to do with a division that the US public doesn't know
He might not be the most exciting fighter, but he knows how to win. Notice the BHop reference - well, that's pretty spot on. They both have a strong work ethic and are meticulous pre-fight planners. If anything Ward has the greater in-fight adaptability. Also I like 'Dre 'cos he does his talking in the ring. Some people say he ain't popular 'cos he 'lacks personality' or whatever, by which is meant that he doesn't showboat, doesn't trash-talk, whatever, but to me these are good things. I'll not say I'm a massive fan, but he's certainly one of the fighters that I respect most in the sport. And whilst I know he was looking for an easier comeback fight (which I wouldn't have begrudged him, just not as a headlining HBO slot) -taking on La Bomba, a hot young prospect, is no joke and he will have to be on his A game. Props 'Dre.
