    What there to defend?

The fight was set for 172.

    Smith accepted.

Smiths history is of a SMW, who has fought at LHW 9 times, and at MW 6 times.

Ward himself has fought at 160 6 times as a pro.

If everyone else wants to make a big deal of this weight, then Ill let them to it.
I dont see the issue. Its not like its for a title.

I wouldnt see the issue if it was Froch fighting a comeback fight at 172...Or Kessler. Id care just as little.

Another thread where Gramsey and Lep amazingly respond within a couple of moments of each other..LOL

Jeez man, at least try to hide the fact!

Im going to use some clairvoyance to guess what Gramsey said above me.

    1.Something about America or "yanks"
2.Something about Andre Ward being a child r apist
3.He uses the term "lunatic" or "psycho"
4.He uses the term "his" when he means "he's"

Can someone tell me how my aim is?

Im waiting for Lep to magically appear momentarily too

Boxstat had him at 170 and then there was the story about Paul having to weigh in twice for that fight because Ambler was stuck in traffic  He weighed 172 the first time then 170.5 2 hours later.

If thats the case, Ive no prob with being wrong.

Boxrec is usually spot on, but if he was 173 instead of 183, Ill put my hands up.

172/3 is still bigger than Ward has ever weighed though, so my general gist remains

There should be no noticeable size diff in this fight

    :good Seems reasonable to me.

I agree with Serge that Paul is a bit of a fatty who likes his meat peis between figihts and if he actually had the discipline of an Andre Ward he could be a in-shape MW instead of tad flabby at SMW. But he's not so he's a SMW now and that's it. Doesn't matter what weight these two fight at. It would never make a difference on what the outcome of the fight would be.

Paul Smith is just a middleweight who likes his chippies.

Yeah, I think his brother Callum though could really make a good go of it.

They're all pretty good, but I think Callum is the class there

Of course not. It just makes an already worthless fight even more meaningless. How is fighting Paul Smith at 172 'testing the water at LHW'?

It is a tune up fight after a long break but Wards next opponent should be a better one (he should have been stripped of the WBA belt anyway)
