Ward was winning wide and handily up until the fight stoppgae.

not sure anyone has ever argued that, winning until the headbutts and ensuing cuts? most probably.

 

I wonder what would've become of Ward's career if he hadn't entered the Super Six (I remember the 1st episode of Inside the Super Six, the other promoters wanted him thrown out because he wasn't traveling and Goosen said he wouldn't be able to get Ward to agree to travekl over the phone).

Would he ever have had a big fight because he seems to be very against ever being the B-side (I think the S6 it was always 50-50 split, and Ward always the home fighter).

After the Super Six Ward was one of my favourite fighters but he's turned into one of my least favourite. :-(

Question regarding Ward.

Do you think Ward genuinely believes he's big enough to fill Wembley stadium with Froch?

Because he either purposely prices himself out of fights, or he's off his rocker.

I believe its the former.

 

It wouldn't even remotely approach Forch v Groves.

What some people from America don't really understand is that during the Froch v Ward fight, most Brits didn't even know who Froch was.

Froch spent a lot of time in the UK in the shadow of the likes of Hatton/ Khan/ Haye/ Calzaghe/ even freaking Audley Harrison. While they was failing us or retiring, Froch was fighting at 3-4 am in the morning while in the SS6 in America

Froch signed with Matchroom just before the Super Six final and got to have all his fights broadcast on Sky (no.1 sports broadcaster). However nobody really knew much about Froch back then.

Still I remember buying tickets for the Bute fight and told a load of casual sports fans about it but hardly any of them other than big boxing followers heard of Froch. After the Bute destruction though that was continually shown on Sky Sports news people became aware of him and he became a household name and his fights really promoted hard because of the decent hour they have all been on.

Still I never hear anybody talk about Ward nobody round here knows who he is.

People knew the Groves-Froch II stuff because it was promoted big time and the controversy carried it, and the first fight was a bellter.

But make no mistake, Groves contributed to that, and you could tell Groves & Froch really despised each other. Ward doesn't have the personality to sell this as a big deal, and Froch is a terrible actor so you wouldn't buy he and Ward really had a score to settle.

I'm not even sure it would quite fill the City Ground but it would come close, hence that's why Froch wanted it there and that's where it sells most tickets.
