You can make a case for Floyd but I feel right now Ward deserves it, the way he been dominating his division against quality opponents, he deserves to be at the top. They way he dominated the Super Six and the way He was able to destroy somebody as good as Dawson. His resume over the last 2-3 years has been the best.

I think Ward is making an increasing case for number 1 and may well be there now.

This is the same reaction to Pacquiao beating a weight-drained DLH. Dawson had no legs and his reaction was slow. He looked drained. Can we please stop over-compensating?

Ward has a great future ahead of him and he'll become #1 very soon, but let's keep our head leveled and stop over-reacting.

I already had him number 2 before tonight, Dawson was the one who challenged Ward at 168, nobody forced Dawson to fight. Floyd is great but he hasn't been that active over the last couple years, Pacquiao lost to Marquez and has fallen off, plus him and Floyd aint even fought. Martinez hasnt done anything to surpass Ward.

He still fighting in only one division, so I can't give it to him yet. If he moves up to 175 then beats a champion we can make a much stronger case.

Many people's current number 1 is floyd and as it stands floyd is moving back and forth from 147-154 and beating champions.

I think floyd will once again be moving up to 154 to fight canelo next year, after another big fight at 147.

And I had him at #3.

It doesn't matter if Dawson was the one who issued the challenged. It still doesn't changed the fact that Dawson was 7lbs below his best weight and looked slow on his feet.

Honestly, Ward could have beaten Dawson at 175 and it would have been a lot more impressive.

Dawson wanted the fight preferably at 175 or a catchweight

Ward declined despite fighting at 175 as an amateur

If Dawson was smarter he could called out Ward to come up to 175 and could have fought Tavoris Cloud in a unification while he waited for Ward to come up and be in a chance of winning

I think Mayweather is still the best.

Ward is second or third, though.

Ward is clearly no lower than 4. The only other guys I wouldn't debate being above him would be the HOF trio Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Marquez. I need to think about it a little bit, but he's probably my #2 now.

Mayweather is clearly #1, and by quite a distance. You could make a case that Ward is #2 but i don't think you can give him any credit for last nights victory. He was fighting a corpse in there.

Much as I'm a big convert to Ward,he's still a bit away from Floyd at this point.

Yeah, who challenged who is regardless in terms of rank and legacy. They fought. At a weight. It favored one fighter. It was 6 years ago for another fighter.

If it were at 175 and Ward rose to capture and hold two consecutive lineal titles, that would be a modern day Henry Armstrong-like feat and truly legendary.

Nonetheless, a tremendous performance yet again. Ward has Dawson, Kessler, and Froch as his elite level wins. A great list in the making indeed. Not sure how I'd rank those three victories though... hmm... Likely in the order I list them.

    This.

If he had won at 175lbs, i would have made him second. Dawson is no SMW...period.

as you know, I have Ward as number one.

    He ranks just behind SRR
