Much more impressive than fighting a guy who hasn't won in 2yrs, or calling himself a 8 weightclass for fighting a guy who was detsroyed, banned and given a gift title fight for embarrassing the sport at a catchweight in a division where neither was ranked highly or had a belt!! :hi:

Its a wonder why so many up and coming fighters have so much respect for Floyd, he is an atg and the absolute best of this era.

I'm sure watching Mayweather train, observing his dedication to the sport and to his craft ... inspires young fighters like Ward. What Floyd shows these guys is priceless and for that he will remain a champion for a while. I can tell that Ward depends more on his intelligence than he does physical attributes.

I love what Ward said to Froch during the face off: "You're not in control, just like in our fight you won't be in control ..."

I think that killed Froch and from that point on Ward had the upperhand ... He defeated Froch without throwing a punch.

If he beats Bute and/or Dirrell, then I'd move him higher. Now if he beats Bernard or Dawson, I'd say he's competing with Floyd and Pac

:yep I agree, but I want to wait before I promote him. People did the same thing with Dawson, plus I want to give Ward space to improve.

 

Dawson is top 10 p4p in my book ... I think he's the most experienced champion outside of Hopkins and he's the best light heavyweight in the division. I know he lost to Pascal, hell maybe it was a wake up call ... Dawson has skills and is definitely top 10 in the world p4p. I don't understand how he can't be ... Martinez isn't proven and because he won 2 fights last year he gets the nod ... GTFOH ... he's not top 3, if he was, it wouldn't have been so easy to give Floyd his slot in the ring rankings. With his lack of quality opposition and Ward's recent win ... Hopkins no decision ... and Miguel Cotto's redemption ... Martinez should move down a bit.
