    How can this happen?

Andre Ward managed to keep the WBA (Super) belt for 5 years, 11 months and 21 day.

Sven Ottke managed to keep the IBF belt for 5 years, 5 months and 3 days.

    Yet

Sven Ottke made 21 TITLE DEFENSES......Whereas Andre Ward only made SIX!

That means that Sven Ottke was not TWICE, not THREE TIMES, but near FOUR TIMES more active as Andre Ward as champion.

Thats like the 2 ends of the chart isnt it. Never knew Ottke had made so many defences, very impresive. But Ward had his reasons, he had plenty of out the ring problems going on in his career. In his defense though he had managed to beat all the best, there wasnt anybody coming through we thought could really beat him at 168 and he is a bit boring so no major loss.

And if they ever met Ottke would have made mincemeat out of Wardke.

    Ottke also iced Mundine. :deal

Ward's best KO is what, Pudwill? (not counting stopped-standing TKO's, retirements or towel-tosses)

ward was 4 times less active but collected all the top scalps up to 2013.

so in effect its not6 years, its 4 years to outdo what ottke needed 6 years and 21 figths to do.

in addition, ward tookjust one fight, his first title fight, to eclipse joe cowardzaghe's best of his 11 year career.

Ottke was the definition of home town decisions, worst one been v Robin Reid, the ref was a disgrace.
Ottka was a good boxer but with little power, if he ever fought Calzaghe or Ward he would have lost both.
The comment regarding the Mundine fight is a poor example, Mundine had been a pro for 17 months with only 10 fights and although a decent boxer 'once he gained experience', that fight was way too early for him.
Ottke is typical of german based champions, plenty of mismatches, dodgy refs and dodgy judges

  12. Are people just now picking up on how overrated Ward actually is? He needs to do a lot more.

Between 2008 and 2012 while Floyd had 3 title fights, Andre Berto had 7. Therefore, he is more than twice as good.

Ottke feasted on euro bums and had no respect outside of Europe.

Ward is not a champion he's nothing but a Prima Donna who's boxing style, on the few occasions he actually fought, resembled a Billy Goat. Hope he gets a good ass whuppin
