Dont know about that, but if he was around now, I guess he would be top 5, his resume is better than many in the current top 10, he had beaten Beyer several times as an amateur and even all these years later has a win over a current top 10 LHW in Braehmer

I expect he would have been right up there. He had fast hands, fast feet, good power and a great chin. Never the same after Calzaghe beat him and then he damaged his shoulder and that was that, but yeah he was good when he was prime and had many thinking he was the next big thing.
I wonder how he would have got on, if prime Lacy and prime Kessler fought.

Taylor hammered Lacy one sided. Taylor beat Hopkinks twice then went and got KTFO by Carl Froch who went and took the biggest beating of his life by a one handed Ward.

Lacy would of been a useless punch bag in todays era. Its embarrassing he's one of Joe's best wins.

 

Lacy was one of the slowest boxers to ever step in the ring. He moved like a zombie. What sort of nonsense are you typing?

 

Often many fighters never seem the same after receiving their first defeat, just those two got beat by the same old SMW champ. Both had good runs and looked impressive before.
Thats the thing with Ward at the moment in that he hasn beaten a top undefeated SMW with that undefeated champs confidence

That was Lacy after the damaged shoulder, when Taylor fought him. Also Lacy could have been rewarded a knockdown in that fight.

Taylor was beaten twice by Pavlik before Froch also and had been KOd and would get KOd after Froch also.

 

Yep. Both Lacy and Veit had some of the greatest SMW wins ever before Joe destroyed them for good.

 

So did Kessler, who still had a few more even if not looking the same

 

Yep. Fighting with that broken hand ruined Kessler.

Joe also ruined Eubank.

 

Roy and Lacy fought each other after losing to Joe. Roy clowned him in every round. Joe doesn't ruin anybody. Lacy just wasn't any good , that fight is proof of it.

 

Last time I checked he won that fight.
