Hopkins says he will never fight Ward out of respect. http://www.badlefthook.com/2013/3/11/4089338/bernard-hopkins-next-fight-andre-ward-money-boxing-news
What people like you fail to realize is that. Kessler wanted to fight in Oakland. The Super 6 was suppose to be a showcase tourney for Kessler and Abraham who were the favorites. :deal Kessler's fight against Ward in Oakland was supposed to be his coming out fight in America and Kessler was supposed to make quick work of the young American. Too bad for Kessler Ward didn't get that script.
Thanks for the update mate. :good Certainly good news that we get to see him twice this year, he says 'two solid fights' in preparation for 'something big in the first quarter of next year' which indicates we're not going to see a big fight with Froch/Kessler or Golovkin until at least next year. He's talking about Chavez Jr do you think he'll jump back in with that or take an easier fight in September and then Chavez Jr in December?
no problem and if he fought Chavez, I'm pretty sure it'd be the second fight this year or the first one next year since Chavez is fighting close to September against Vera or Martin Murray.
In the link they spoke about a rumour that Chavez Jr was considering pushing his return back so he could face Ward meaning he would cancel the bout with Murray and fight Ward in September. Unlikely that this is true I see it happening in December though.
Pascal is gonna fight Bute in December and I doubt he would take the Ward fight before this, he might take an easier fight to stay busy though.
Andre Ward is going to age overnight just like Martinez did against Murray. Not as drastically I think but it will be there.
He needs to stay active, **** the opposition just box at least twice a year and gain a fan base. He already beat the best fighters at that weight and Bute is busy. So why not fight Stieglitz or Dirrell bros I think all the others champs ans top contenders are busy with fights. Dam or at least move up in weight.
Based on what? He's 29 years old and if anything is getting better why do you think he's going to age overnight? Martinez is 38 and had shown signs of decline and add injury to that I don't think he 'aged overnight.'
He's had a serious shoulder injury (right shoulder) and needed to perform surgery on it. He's also been inactive so we could very well see an Andre Ward with dimished right hand power or speed.
