If he defeats Kovalev, Ward says his next step will not be dropping back to middleweight to face another superb fighter in the shape of Gennady Golovkin.

"I think that fight has sailed, that fight is never going to happen," said Ward. "Once you go up in weight, I will never go down, you just don't do it."

Hey at least he's honest :campeon: :applaudit:

When pressed further about Golovkin, Ward replied the following:

Dawson win would have only mattered if Ward jumped up to LHW and beat him for the belts, instead he fought a drained corpse. Dawson then proceeded to get KO'd in 1 by Stevenson, and drop a decision to Karpency. Kind of hard to nullify that win when it's really not all that great in the first place. Anyways, if Ward beats Kovalev clean you won't ever hear me slate him ever again. His place in boxing history will be cemented forever.

He don't get any credit for the Dawson win anyway so what does it matter.

Sounds fair to me. Dawson went all the way down for Ward.

But Dawson is the one who made the challenge. AND he was the lineal LHW champion so he could make that demand which costed him dearly. GGG isn't lineal at anything yet he wanted to do a CW of 164, because he thinks Ward demanded Dawson at 168. That's ******ed.

Ahh....the desperation and deflection ....it smells like GG's resume.....which happens to smell like the dog feces he continues to feed to his fans and the boxing world

Is this meant to prove Dawson never requested a catchweight, because it doesn't.

"It's an even trade", you heard it from the horses mouth. And he might have tried to negotiate a CW after realizing he messed up by saying that, but you can't blame Andre Ward for holding him to his word.

Don't you give Andre any credit though for traveling to Kov's hometown of Las Vegas and fighting him?
    Who said Ward doesn't travel...

I heard that from Ward's mouth, not Dawsons.

Oh yeah. He's traveled to more home towns than Glen Johnson if you ask him.
