Admitting a fight was so close that he could see how the judges might score it the other way is not admitting you lost. Its accepting that boxing is a subjective sport and everyone will have their own opinion. Something you obviously are failing to grasp

Come on man. You are ignoring the fact that he sat on the ropes and bent over illegally in attempts to protect himself. He should have taken a knee but he didn't

Ward is one of the most mentally tough fighters ive seen. Guys like him and froch and pbf are rare breeds indeed.

I will give Ward that, he impressed me in both fights with his resolve he never folded. He is very tough to weather the assault he did and to remain mentally focused. I still scored the fight for the effective aggressor that didn’t endlessly clinch and back peddle to survive. It was a bad decision and Ward in his heart knows this. But he took the rematch and improved.

No, I didn't ignore it, I said he didn't protect himself well enough. Yeah, he got discombobulated, scrambled, didn't want to hold or take a take and paid the price. Thankfully he has seemed to learn a little from that experience.

Discombobulated because of the right hand he took and the lack of air in his lungs from the body shots

Obviously. And? I didn't say Kovalev wasn't in trouble, I was just arguing against the stoppage and against this horse**** subjective narrative being passed off as fact that Kovalev "quit" or is a sissy.

Can you concede that a round can be close but have a clear winner? I really believe there were six rounds that Kovalev won without question. In my opinion even a draw would have been a robbery for Kov. (because of the knockdown). You likely disagree but I believe deep down even Ward knows he lost the first fight.

The only people deluded about the fight are those that can't say it could have gone either way. There are too many to count, and they aren't in Ward's corner.

For history books, a Draw would have been nice. The rematch concluded everything, round 13-24. Or 13-20 or whatever.

He literally got bent over multiple times and took it.

It was a stamina issue, not a mentally quitting issue. Trust me, I'm the guy that doesn't have anything against a boxer quitting (the opposite). One can watch Joshua pseudo-quit against Ruiz. Kovalev against Ward, just gassed and got legit stopped.

oh ok, it was implied by "still".

i had kovie ahead by 1 point myself, but admit something that slender can be called either way.

One of the only fights in history where a defending champion lost his title while being the fighter that threw more, landed more, was the aggressor, and scored a knockdown.

    Crazy, imo.

Nope. That was clearly a Kovalev win.
