Andre Ward on Kovalev acting like he lost

I don't have an issue with someone saying Kovalev won, that's a reasonable opinion. The fight was really that close that it could have gone either way. My issue is with people claiming the fight as robbery and their was some U.S. conspiracy to rob the Russian.

 

It will be interesting to know what will happen now Ward feels he is in the drivers seat.

Will the fight be in Oakland?
get announced late?
Be delayed?

Who knows but whether it happens or not fans will always have an opinion as to how they feel that fight went.
I dont really think Kovalev needs Ward because of a loss in a fight many felt he won.
If it doesnt happen I dont imagine Ward facing Beterbiev whereas I could imagine Kovalev having that fight.

I think Mayweather deserves alot of credit for rematching the close fights he had

But everyone has obviously seen the fight different. You have an issue with people that have seen the fight differently from you. Your opinion isn't golden, nor is mine. I had the fight 7-4-1 so I do see the fight as a robbery. No way did Ward win that fight. His famous 'inside game' was an illusion in that fight. Best they both do it again. I get the feeling there will be no questions next time.

 

Even if Ward said this or not it doesn't matter. Ward putting everybody on notice that he doesn't give a flying **** about what anybody thinks. Kathy Duva better be professional in the next round of negotiations.

 

I believe Ward will rematch Kovalev, its going to happen. He knows he has to redeem himself.

Now If it doesnt happen, it will become a problem because he will continued to be taunted and hear the word " Robbery " for a very long time.

 

I have a feeling the rematch will happen too. Too much money to be made and Ward won't want to constantly hear those words.

I think Sergey works the body WAY more the second time and focuses more on the jab. He'll have Ward out of there by the 9th round

 

Caught the fight on youtube the night after. Sure the video was taken pretty much up at ringside. Without wanting to sound like i m saying you need to watch it in slow motion. Watching the ringside cam ward won the fight. Kovalev was struggling a lot more than the live cameras picked up on. A lot of his shots were just missing or being blocked. Just falling a bit short. On initial viewing i thought he won it by a couple of rounds. If anyone can track down the video i m talking about give it a watch. Wards not too far off in what hes saying after the fight. And i m more of a kovalev fan than ward.

 

Agree, Ward won at least 10 rounds. Kovalev proved that he is just another one dimensional plodder with NO boxing IQ.

I have only read what was quoted on this thread but from what I have read I get the impression that Ward does care what people think and think it sounds as if he is a bit bugged that there seems to be a lot of people who felt Kovalev won
