Ward ranks higher for me. Roy might have the better single win and was more impressive at SMW, but Ward has a deeper resume.

Ward. Roy used the division as a transition to LHW.

    Define “ranks higher”

Are we talking career wins at SMW? Who was a better ATG at SMW? Head to head? P4P time at SMW?

Roy was the closest thing to unbeatable at 168 I’ve ever seen so chances are the answer is Jones Jr.

Ward has the overall better body of work at 168, but Roy has the better single win, as Toney was considerably better than Froch/Abraham/Kessler.

Head-to-head, forget it. Ward has zero chance against the 94-95 Jones.

    What does that mean?

They didn't fight eachother so we don't know?

Roy would have toyed with Ward if they fought in the same era. Toney would have given him a beating as well, even in Oakland.

Ward won a tournament at 168. Big deal. Roy was a legend, one of the greatest. It’s laughable to compare Ward to RJJ in any category related to boxing.

Roy was the only one who sent Toney to the floor. Certainly, he's greater than Ward both at Super MD and Light HW.

Apparently you never saw Toney's fight with Reggie Johnson...

Lol. Not even knowing that answer, and having the nerve to say on another thread that Crawford "beats the **** outta" Duran already lets me know everything I need to know about you.

Yes, you boxing newbie, Johnson dropped Toney

Roy wasn't there long enough for this to be a serious consideration. Sad too because SMW likely was Roy's most prime, prime weight

RJJ would have reminded Ward that he musta forgot.

Ward more or less cleaned out SMW. Roy's only major win at 168 was Toney.
