Well this one is an excellent, very much sane quote from Andre himself.

"I've seen fighters come on the record and say, 'Well, I'll fight Andre Ward when his legal issues are over with.' But those fighters and their promoters know that this isn't impeding anybody from picking up the phone and entertaining a fight being made.

    "

. To the fans that are confused out there about some of things that have been said or that have been written about this, this is coming from the horse's mouth: This lawsuit has nothing to do with me getting back into the ring.

"There's still a contract in place, and everybody's obligated to adhere to that contract, but I've done my part, and I'm still waiting for that option, or multiple options to be presented to me where me and my team can make an educated decision on how we move forward in terms of getting back into the ring.

"So, I've been available, and I remain available to entertain any offer that's presented from the promoter, and I've not been presented with any offers at the present time."

I don't see it. He's the bigger draw in every potential fight except the Chavez Jr fight, it's not like he'll get offers from small fish asking Ward to fight them for peanuts in front of even less people that there would be in Cali if Ward were to make the offers out.

    :-(

had the chance to rematch Froch in England or Kessler in Denmark - NO

could of faced Stevenson, who was willing to fight him at 168- NO

    so the bitterness continues :|:|

Ward calls himself the "Son of God" but in reality he's not a religious man at all.

He's a selfish prima donna who demands everything his own way. And he's a dirty fighter who uses shady home referees like Jack Reiss so he can get away with fouling.

My thing with Ward is (who Im a fan of, awesome fighter)

He expects G to move up to fight him, as do the anti G brigade (the pro broner, mayweather groupies)

And yet, when asked to fight Kovalev, he says "Im a champion, I dont have to go chasing after anybody"

    :think

And the broner/mayweather brigade find nothing off about them wanting G to move up to fight Ward (despite fights with Geale and Martinez still possible) not even being the undisputed champ of his weight, and not expecting the same thing from Ward, who has 0 options right now, to go fight Kovalev.

    Typical groupie behaviour though

If G is 'ducking' Ward, then theres no question that Ward is even moreso ducking Kovalev.

As supremely talented and excellent a fighter Ward is, he still hasn't grasped that boxing is a business, and not many casual fans are interested in watching him fight. He's the B-side in most of the big fights right now. Carl "The King of England" Froch, who Ward absolutely schooled, is fighting at Wembley in-front of 80,000 for a career high pay-day of £8M. Ward is never fighting on as big a stage as that, unless he quickly realises other big names are bringing the dollar to the table, not him.

Every time Ward opens his mouth these days, I do a sort of involuntary facepalm. Its getting hard to read or defend, he is just embarrassing himself.

He is so desperate for someone to put out a huge dollar offer for him to be B-side, but treat him like A-side (because HBO isnt giving Goossen a date for Ward, and Goossen isnt going to pay a lot of money to Ward or an opponent as an investment when Ward is suing him... derp)

This. What ever he is doing is definitely not working. He needs to set his pride aside and start going after fights instead of waiting for them to fall on to his lap.

Here's a fun fact for Ward. Froch can make $10 million fighting Groves in England. He can't do that in Oakland, because there isn't enough people who wants to pay.

But Ward doesn't want to fight outside of Oakland, because the moment he does, his lawsuit becomes even more meaningless. Oakland is still recovering from the recession, but Ward wants to get paid handsomely when he fights there. It's not gonna happen.

He thinks too much of himself. Especially for such an inactive fighter.

This forum should be reserved for current or active fighters.

I vote that all Ward threads should be moved to Classic.

This sums up the situation perfectly.

I'm a big Ward fan but he is totally deluding himself and not comprehending the situation he has placed himself in. Why on earth would Goosen look to put time, money and effort into a fighter who is on the brink of possibly leaving him. Ward for all his talent and boxing knowledge has little understanding of the business side of boxing.

3 years from now Andre Ward will be irrelevent in boxing if he carries on this way. Guy already is becoming a non entity in boxing. He needs to face facts he isn't a draw Carl Froch and Groves are the money fighters they don't need Ward, He is so bitter calling Froch vs Groves a domestic fight ect he deludes himself fact is Ward can only dream of ever fighting in front of 80000 and making 8m it won't happen for him if he stays in Oakland their are big fights for him why doesn't he fight Kovaelv why does everyone have to fight him why won't he make the fights happen instead of expecting everyone to run to Oakland and fight him for **** money.
