    Actually, you know what.

    Thats fair.

I mean he didnt have to agree to enter the super 6, but at least you seem balanced. Sorry if I come off as too aggressive, just some of the others on this thread are infuriating!

Good lord! Some reason! I actually baulked when I read this. Top man STB!

I've been exaggerating a bit (obviously for comic effect) and I do think Ward still posesses 'skills for bills' as they say but I don't like champs taking on weak / irregular opposition. (Wlad is an e.g. of this IMO)

Floyd has earned his right to fight a top man once a year I guess but it annoys me that every other champ thinks they have the right to follow suit and get similar respect. It's bad for boxing in general I think.

No need to apologise for being 'too aggressive', it's dog-eat-dog on this forum most of the time.....or biased/clueless idiot Vs equally annoying pr1ck.:-(

Ha, you'll take Ward's word but not Froch's. That's clearly biased.

i'm not asking for proof of negotiation, as already stated, i'm asking you for proof froch doesn't want the fight, after you asked me for proof he does, to highlight how ludicrous your argument is. neither of us can prove either standpoint, although i suspect without this rematch we'd be seeing froch in vegas against 1 of ward, ggg or chavez.

at froch kessler 2 ward had still not made his comeback, and if you think he wanted it against the #2 smw and 1 of the toughest guys in boxing, i'll consider you an idiot instead of a troll (not that the 2 are mutually exclusive).

Going to have to call you out YET ANOTHER bs claim:

Ward (26-0, 14 KOs), 28, of Oakland, Calif., was training for a Jan. 26 title defense against former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik when he injured the shoulder in a November sparring session.
The original MRI on Ward's shoulder showed significant swelling and inflammation and his doctor recommended rest and rehabilitation. The fight was in the process of being rescheduled for March 2, but when Ward showed little improvement, he sought a second opinion and surgery was recommended

The timetable for Ward's return has not been set, but he is likely going to be out for 4 to 6 months. If his shoulder heals well, he could be back in the ring in early fall.

Ward has been hurt since Nov of 2012 and did not have surgery until Janurary 2013, rehab followed, and he would not be back into the ring until Nov last year. So the timing of his May rant would mean it was when he was injured and not seeking any fights. He also ranted in Christmas of 2012 when Froch/Kessler II was first made despite clearly not being able to face either man. Yet you take this guy at his word?

Of course Ward would not be be fully cleared and looking for an opponent until Sept 2013, 4 months after his comments regarding Froch. So he was clealry not healthly and looking for a fight, you twit.

    I guess that's that.

It looks more like desptie STB's unshakable faith in the man, Ward was the one "just spouting off in the media to seem like a tough guy." Complaining about Froch/Kessler II despite being out with a shoulder injury with a best case prediction of a fall return.

Ward was due to return in January to defend his title against former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik, but he tore his right shoulder in a November sparring session, eventually forcing him out of the fight and under the knife.
He had surgery to repair the shoulder and spent months rehabbing, anxious to get back in the ring. After a 14-month layoff, that return will finally happen when Ward faces Edwin Rodriguez on Saturday night (HBO, 10 p.m. ET/PT) at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif.
"I have had a year of setbacks, a year of a mountain that I had to climb to get to this point, and that made me hungry," Ward said. "I thought I was hungry before the injury, but I'm famished right now. I'm ready to get at it."

Ward did not want a tough fight as comeback fight. His post-injury comeback was delayed for so long because matching a fight that Ward would take, with a guy HBO was willing top ay him to fight was very difficult. I dont blame him, he had surgery and a layoff.

I also think it is Goossen more than Ward that keeps him at home and doesnt want to travel. Goossen has killed fights, and keeps Ward's people out of negotiations.. thats why Ward is suing him. I have defended Ward plenty here.

What I think is indefensible, is Ward talking trash on other fighters and other fights. When it comes down to it, Ward was the one who got himself in this mess by re-upping with Goossen. If he had told Goossen to take a hike, not worried about fighting Glass Jawson and signed with TR, GBP or Matchroom none of these discussions would be happening and Ward would probably be fighting.

Goosen's not making any money with Ward sitting out. In general we only ever hear from Ward's side on what's going on. When Goosen was promoting James Toney we didn't have these issues because Toney just wanted to fight.

Ward is like a politician that everyone thinks is doing horribly but he surrounds himself with yes men that nod in approval to everything Ward says that allows Ward to maintain his fiction of reality. Two guys are going to get 80000 to watch them in Wembley and he calls it a domestic fight. If we added together the paid attendance at all of Ward's pro fights, would he clear 80000 in attendance?

The man's a good boxer of course, but what's that matter if you're not active? His statements let you know he's just not an intelligent person. For a Son of God, he's pretty hypocritical in his business practices and should consider reading Jesus' Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard.

who ever put this video together needs to learn the difference between a clinch and smothering.

ward is sticking his arm forward and underneath kesslers arm in most instances and kessler obliges by holding it. ward isn't fighting to get free and he uses his free hand to work out. kessler does some of the same...so a ref isn't going to call that. he'll let them work out of it.

it's blatant holding by Ward. Most refs would separate them.

Strange, here is Andre Ward HIMSELF saying in SEPTEMBER, that he'd been fine for "3-4 months" and the reason that the Rodriguez fight took so long to make was negotiation problems(basically E-Rods team looking for too much money)
Of course if you actually followed boxing and knew what you were talking about, you'd remember that, as it was quite widely publicized at the time

So once again, your "facts" are complete bull****

How on earth do we know Froch had any interest if he never tried to enter negotiations??

Acting like a reality TV star in the media whining about the beating you took, doesnt mean he wanted to fight Ward.
Let me break it down for you.

    It went like this.

Ward on Britiash TV after the Kessler fight: If Carl Froch wants a fight, have Eddie Hearn picj up the phone and lets start negotiating.

    Frochs team:....(silence)

What else is anyone supposed to believe, other than Froch never wanted the rematch with Ward??

Again you keep saying his "comeback" like he had been retired and eating pizza for 5b years, he was STILL considered the #1 guy at SMW, and had already won a comprehensive win over Froch.

Vitali came back after 4 years, when he was older and an even more serious injury and fought a world champion!

So yes, I have no problem thinking that Ward was willing to fight a guy he had already easily beaten in his "comeback"
