Ward doesn't seem to think so. You may feel its Ward and nobody else in his stratsosphere but the reports of him wanting an "easier" opponent would imply that he feels there are "harder" opponents.

Ask Ward, he wanted an easier opponent and tried to present HBO with unknowns Sartison and Truax as his opponents of choice before settling on the untested Rodriguez.

 

So now it boils down that you feel you know Andre Ward better than he knows himself. For whatever reason, Ward felt he wanted an easier opponent coming off his lay off, that's his choice. Since you disagree, take it up with your hero, I hear he's got lots of free time to be on twitter.

 

Oh no, they're not comparable, Froch has about a 20% chance of beating Ward.

E-Rod had about 10%.

That would make him twice as likely to beat Ward... Much tougher.

Ward is rightfully the top guy but Froch as of now has a better claim to cleaning out the divison than Ward. Froch has been the divison's policeman, facing and beating far more contenders.

If Ward doesnt fight this year, its perfectly reasonable to remove him from rankings due to inactivity. Right now it looks like he wont. I actually do hope I am wrong, I dont dislike Ward and some of his fights are entertaining (not all *cough Kessler* but some)

I only dislike his trash talking other people, when his lack of fights is due solely to his own bad business decisions.

 

Ward had better be careful. He is one of the best boxers in the sport and a tremendous threat to the many hyped pretenders of the sport.
Traditionally, when a guy like Ward threatens other less talented athletes in the sport, when they aren't careful they end up in career stagnating lawsuits like David Tua, Ike Ibeabuchi, Mike Tyson and Bernard Hopkins often found themselves in.

Next thing you know, bums like The Klitschos are ruling the division because all their top opponents have been hemmed up in bugus lawsuits and proped up charges.

 

This is all really a moot point. Ward cannot fight so long as his contract is in dispute. No one is using it as an excuse not to fight him, they cannot do it without risking a suit being brought against them by Goossen Tutor. The truth is Ward should just fight out the contract, because he has already lost once in arbitration.

Its not benefitting Goosen that Ward doesnt fight.
