I tend to agree......except Chavez wouldnt be bullied in the clinch like Kessler was. And you can't dent his iron chin with a sledge.....

    Tough fight for Ward IMO.

But your'e right, Ward PROBABLY takes it.:think

Chavez can be outboxed though, I don't think Ward needs to bully him in the clinch he can beat him from the outside.

    True.

But JR has shown a great jab since moving up. I know the first Vera fight he looked vulnerable. No denying it, but in the rematch, his jab was Klitschko-esque.
His feigning punches has also gotten a lot better as he's matured. There's no tell on them like Froch has.

Ward would likely school him for about 5 rds until Jr got inside unsing his feign and jab......would defo be a GREAT FIGHT.

And if JR pulled it off.......man, imagine the monster fights made after that.:think

Byrd really should have given Golota a rematch.

Agreed, although I honestly tend to believe that Chavez would be bullied far, far worse in the clinch than Kessler was with Ward. In other words, I see Chavez being mentally broken far quicker than Kessler was.

Sergio doesn't do much infighting and is physically built like a child compared to Ward.

Have you ANY actual evidence that Froch or his team ever actually offered Ward a fight in England?

Or Kesslers team offered him a fight in Denmark??

    "His" tournament??

Ward was a green kid when the tournament started!

Froch,Kessler,Abraham and Taylorm were all bigger names going in.

That's the thing I don't understand , ward was so unknown going into the tournament yet he was able to get all his fights at home, in fairness to goosen he must have done a great job negotiating

Most likely because the bigger stars thought that they would brush this relatively unknown green kid to the side so they probably agreed to do it in Oakland or wherever thinking it would be easy

It didn't work like that every fighter was supposed to have as many away fights as home fights, for ward to have all his fights at home must have been hard to get
