Pathetic, not even a real injury, just inflammation. All fighters have injuries, some serious, and still go out and fight.

"Ward has been suffering from significant inflammation and constant pain in his right knee that is severely restricting his mobility. He has been advised by his physician to immediately rest and begin rehab on the knee to reduce the inflammation."

Happens all the time in all businesses people negotiate a deal they are comfortable with then they go talk to an over opinionated ass hat who "thinks" they are smart and get in their ear then they want to re-consider and come back.

You would not believe how many times I see this happens in all businesses, as a Mexican guy I say it all the time in the Mexican community they listen to some dumb ass "compadre" or "comadre" that knows everything, then end up shooting themselves in the foot.

I am going to be honest with you guys, I honestly believe Ward's heart is no longer in it, I think he is comfortable with his quality of life and announcer gig.

I know guys who are active in this sport and the one thing they all share in common is YOU CANNOT KEEP THEM OUT OF THE GYM OR OUT OF THE RING.

With Ward it's almost like finding a reason to stay out of there.

If he has his health, made good money, has some coin saved up and can provide for his family and his self, why not just call it a day instead of dragging it out?

The truth is that he can and will still be active in the sport just not as a fighter.

You may be very close. It is either healthy desire to avoid damage or a result of some mental issues.

If Golovkin's team was stupid enough to accept Ward's "offer", he would most certainly pull the same cr^p on them.

The real issue is an inflammation in his brain resulting in inflation of his ego

If this is correct, I wonder if this will mean he (Ward) still needs the same amount of tune ups while Kovalev can be involved in tough career draining fights and possibly beaten or exposed before any match up can happen.
I am not sure Ward will face many if any top LHWs if before he does face Kovalev

I do agree that if he doesnt want to do it and is comfy, he should be able to retire if thats what he wants to do.
I think Ward would leave fans with question marks if that were to happen, as he has yet to face a top undefeated fighter or top prime fighter but good luck to him if he does choose to retire

He must be badly injured. Considering he embarrassed Froch with a broken hand. Speedy and full recovery, Andre!

It was probably a swollen rectum not a knee.
