....**** out of California, ....what the **** is that all about? Fought Carl Froch in AC, but anyone else of any great reputation? ****ing hell, Froch will fight any **** anywhere...see also Bernard Hopkins.
Yeah if he wants the money he's got to get moving. I've always backed him before but he's not the money maker
Nobody "has" to do anything. Ward can retire if he wants. Alternately he can fight Golovkin in Kazakhstan, or in the USA, or fight Hopkins on the Moon? The facts are these: - Andre Ward is the best fighter in the world at 168 - Carl Froch is the biggest money fight at 168 Froch need Ward if he wants to be known as the No.1, Ward needs Froch if he wants to make money. Now I would admire Ward were he not to specifically pursue money throughout his career, but murmurs from him suggest this will not be the case. If Ward really wants to make money, expanding the territory in which he fights makes sense. Fighting Froch, in England, at a football stadium, would be big business. If that's what Ward truly wants, he's going to have to book some plane tickets.
^^He's a commentator on HBO, not Showtime. Paulie is the boxer who commentates for Showtime. I don't know why Froch would even entertain the idea of fighting Ward. Andre would absolutely demolish him again, it's a terrible matchup stylistically for Froch. Granted Froch has some very nice wins since his loss to Ward and he's catching Andre on his longest layoff ever. If he were to ever have a punchers chance against Ward, he'd have to face him now. Still think Froch gets destroyed though. He should go for matchups where he'd actually be favored rather than get dominated by a superior fighter. He's better of having his trilogy with Kessler.
While money is a major driving force in boxing it's not the only thing that motivates Ward. Andre has a need to be the master of his own destiny and I can respect that. Right now he is in the middle of reorganizing his team with the people he feels can move with him in the direction that he wants to go instead of trying to take him in the direction that they want to go in. Ward is an intelligent and articulate individual and he has confidence in his boxing and business skills. He is not gonna let Froch dictate to him how things is gonna go simply because of the monetary value of a rematch. The fact remains that he beat Froch convincingly and to him, that supersedes any dominant bargaining chip that Froch thinks he has. Like he said, he can fight Chavez Jr. and make really big money which in turn will lead to other big money fights. Froch is not the only game in town.
Froch/Ward rematch is going to be a treat to us boxing fans . It just has that feeling . Froch of course will be responsible for making it a thriller . I cant wait . Pretty much the same result though
