Why the ? mark. People are comparing a guy that's fighting literal nobodies for title shots, Gennady Golovkin, to Marvin Hagler and Andre Ward can't get a Henry Armstrong comparison?

I didn't compare Golovkin with Hagler.

...and stylistically, I just don't see it.

I totally see it. They were champions around the same age, for starters. Mainly though, the two have activity levels so close together, it's an easy comparison to make. See:

-Andre Ward record from the last 3 years, age 28-31: 3-0
-Henry Armstrong record from age 28-31: 32-2-1 (arguably 33-1-1)

They each showed that kind of can-do gumption of fighting everyone and anyone, with multiple Hall of Famers at each corner. Truly outstanding.

They are the exact opposites ...

Henry Armstrong = FIGHTER!!!! Real Champion

Andre Ward = Prima Donna with a seriously inflamed knee

I will have to go back and watch the Kessler fight, but at the moment I'm hard pressed to think of a fighter less like Henry Armstrong.

He reminds me of cyclist Neil Armstrong. An American who's main success has come due to PED cheating. :nod

I don't care what you're on, cycling to the moon is a hell of an achievement.

Andre Ward switching back and forth to south paw totally confused Kessler. Kessler looked old and shot. He said that in his whole career he has never faced a fighter that held and purposely head butted so much. Kessler was elbowed many times also. But the majority of the damage were over the brow and a forehead full of lumps.

Ward is the A-side though, the Moon would have to cycle to him to Oakland!

Good point. Only R-Truth can outdraw Ward in Oakland.
