The fight has just finished. As you probably know Ward has won. I think he is a good boxer, very quick and smart. But I have no respect for a headbutter, you could argue that some of them were accidental but any fan of his has to admit that some of them were done on purpose. Hmm, I don't know what to make of his win...:?

popkins and holyfield both great fighters got away with it. Not reason to be mad at Ward. The gap in skill was obvious heabutts or not.

    Kessler was **** tonight.

But Ward was a ****ing billy goat, for sure.
That butt looked deliberate, not just reckless or careless but straight up deliberate.

Ward could have won by many ways tonight. He was so dominant. He didn't need to clinch so much and to headbutt. If I were his next opponent, I'd want to chose the ref. I think Ward will win the super 6.

I don't think it was intentional at all. If you watch, anytime he found himself in a vulnerable position......head low, in front of MK, he would move in and try to tie him up. For his part, Kessler would always stand his ground but would end up with the forward, upward moving Ward in his face. It sucks that fights end this way, but that's boxing.

Yeah, you can make an arguement for the 2nd headbutt being intentional. I'm a Bay Area guy and rooting for Andre but the headbutts made me sympathetic for Kessler.

Ah well, Kessler's got another chance to impress and SOG still has a way to go. I really don't like his style, he needs to be more fluid ala Roy Jones, one of his idols.

Kessler was ****. Easily the worst I've ever seen him. Fair play to Ward though he took his chance and deserved to be well ahead on the cards. I had it 7-3 at the stoppage.

The butts obviously had a major effect on the fight but with Kessler looking so flat I dont think they would have changed the result. the reff said after teh figth he saw 5 butts and thought they were unintentional. Bollocks. If a pro fighter with years of training butts a guy 5 times he means to do it.

The ref was also questionable about breaks. He orders Mikkel to let go and stand back several times and says nothing to Ward, letting him punch on a break. Again, nothing that would change the fight but still, not impressive.

Kessler need to ditch his trainer and corner. Aparently he didnt even spar any lefties when he was preparing for a fight with a switch hitter. That is plain stupid. And their advice between rounds consisted of use the left and **** all else.

Overall though I was very impressed with Ward. He has arived on the world stage with a bang.

If Ward had won a fight, I would be all praise.

When Kessler was not buzzed and concussed by headbuts the fight was close and showed a lot of promise. But any time Kessler started getting the upper hand he got concussioned with brutal headbuts. Ward did this not only by moving the head, but by running his head full force into Kessler. Anyone normal should have a checkup at a hoispital for each of those headbuts. Instead of going for a hospital check up Kessler had to fight a world title fight.

I agree- that Ward's talent is there as expected, but this fight did not end right. It gives Ward no glory having to headbut his way to a belt. Ward is still as good as I expected, but he is a dirty boxer and has shown he is willing to do ANYTHING to win.

No respect for Ward in this. None.

But I expect Ward to hopefully one day put the dirty tactics to a side and try to take on top opposition with pure boxing. Holding and headbutting and boxing while the opponent is concussed is not really the way boxing ought to be.

Honestly I think headbutts like that can be real game changers, but even before the headbutts there was just no evidence that Kessler could do anything about Ward's speed. All props to ward Even w/o the headbutts it would have ended the same, wide UD for Ward.

Ward's head is more dangerous than Clottey's...that ref was ****in' garbage. I felt like I was watching the American version of Hatton/Tsyzu. He should've deducted a point a long time ago for hitting with his head. Maybe then Ward wouldn't have charged in there so much with his head and might've caught some leather trying to clinch without his head down.

Ward's skill didn't win this fight...we'll never know if he had the skills. His constant clinching and headbutting is what won him this fight.

    Ward = Berto = Hopkins
