Dear lord his career is a waste. He will never be competitive at 175 with his inactivity. He is overrating his skill if he thinks he can fight a couple of punching bags and then be competitive with a killer like Kovalev.

 

I don't know the specifics, but I do know Barrera is worth more than 300k. He is Kovs mandatory, so he will be getting paid step aside money at a minimum or fighting Kov for more than 300k. Paul got $225,000 against Ward and he had NO other options.

Maybe Ward increased the offer and Barrera is usuing the situation as free promotion? We don't know yet. If 300k is all Ward offered, then his side is the problem.

 

Ya ward making himself look very bad, no one gets rich off fighting ward so I've no idea what he means. All he wants is a fair payday considering Barrera is mandatory to kovalev and is willing to come to Oakland. Iv a feeling ward never had any intention of fighting Barrera and just low balled him

Its a shame because its the only name linked with ward that's acceptable and people want to see him face

Dam another fight baiting the dust is not looking good for Ward which is one of my favorite fighter at least Barrera have some pulse and is exposing the true.

 

I've got quite a lot of time for Ward, but I honestly think he doesn't actually want to fight any more.

If he does have any intention of facing Kovalev a Barrera type opponent is what he's going to need, both to start rebuilding his name and to get some real LHW experience, and they ain't gonna come any cheaper at that level.

 

"Not getting rich off us" Put that into all your contracts and promotions. Why the **** would anybody want to fight you if you keep all the money for yourself? Wards attitude should be like Tyson or De La Hoya's were. "Fight me. I'll make you rich and famous."

Ward's heart is no more in the boxing. This is not a insult towards him but it just looks like it. I dont know what went wrong with his career, quite sad, wasted his career considered his talent and what he could have possible archieved. I was never fan of him but I always recognised his talent.

 

Sadly I don't think he has any intention of fighting Kovalev.
