Bloody hell. One of the few fights where I would actually pay to see Ward fight and he doesn't fancy it. What a waste of talent.

2013 Fighter of the Year Adonis Stevenson said he would fight Ward in Oakland at 168 and then in Montreal @175, but being Fighter of the Year and lineal LHW champion wasn't enough to "earn" a fight with Andre Ward.
It was good enough when Chad Dawson opened up his big mouth and said he's go to 168.
I wonder why Ward didn't want to fight Stevenson?

LMAO Ward has backward. Ward isn't PPV material, Kovalev is..

Ward needs to retire. He's getting boring.

Ward is turning into a bigger idiot than 'The Matrix' Dirrell. Complete joke of a fighter. Being p4p takes more than just ability, takes a serious set of stones too…and Ward is lacking in that dept.

    Ward is absolutely right.
Hardly anybody but serious boxing fans even knows who Kovalev is. He is probably the least known LHW champion and at this point, even less known than Shumenov.
The reason that Kovalev is unknown by the average boxing fan is simply because he has fought no body. Had Kovalev been more active in his career, perhaps this would not currently be the case, but the fact remains that he has been relatively inactive.

Unlike the average ESB poster, Ward is offering his qualified opinion based on facts, having access to Showtime/HBO boxing executives, promoter feedback, and even advisers information from key advisers like Al Haymon.

My guess is if Hopkins fought Kovalev, it wouldn't be a PPV event and would be like Hopkins-Shumenov but the draw would be larger moreso that it would be a LHW unification bout due to Hopkins.

Ward isn't PPV either. But why doesn't Ward go out there and make himself PPV instead of doing nothing but moan that he can't get PPV fights.

It's not a coincidence that Froch is on PPV, he's done nothing but give the viewers exciting fights against top level opponents. He's gone out there and made the fights happen, Ward seems to think the world owes him a living.

    This is getting very sad.

Im a big Ward fan but he should just fight and quit mouthing off. He doesn't even have an opponent lined up which is a complete joke.

Andre Ward needs a PPV partner. Someone who he can piggyback off to launch himself into being a consistent PPV star. Floyd did it with Oscar and Hatton and launched himself into the big time.

Ward knows his [lack of] worth therefore needs a strong PPV partner to fight. A Chavez Jr or Golovkin fight may be what he needs to do. Also, let GBP, Top Rank or Al Hayon Promotion buy his contract out from Goosen.

It is obvious Goosen isn't going to take him far (much like Mick Hennesey and Carl Froch) so pay off Goosen $5m or so and springboard Ward into the big time.

Remember how Mayweather went from stinking out the joint vs Baldomir to fighting Dela Hoya and making mega $$$$ from there onwards?

It's all about promotion. You get the impression that Goosen and Ward and draining each other mentally.
