there was one possible low blow at the close of the fight. that didnt dictate the fight. cmon, the guy keeps beating elites, dont pretend he cant handle a mere world level CW(with substantial difficulty,mind you).
But elite CW,2Slyk,is toomuch.

 

My point is if SOB tries his low blows or elbows on Briedis he is fuсked.
Ward was landing low blows on Kova. Briedis would eat Ward alive. His little dirty tricks wont work. He won't be able to wrestle cruserweight as well.

Agreed. Wards good enough that he can have success at CW if he bulks up right, Briedis is just a tough matchup for him because of his inside game, willingness to get dirty, and short right hand. Smothering it won't work like it did on Kovalev because it's not just a long range tool for Briedis.

 

Ward could barely handle Kovalev's size and power.
