When did Froch say he wanted to avenge his defeat to the Real P4P King, Andre Ward?

Every time he talked about avenging hsi defeat to Ward,, its been amazingly half hearted.

"Yeah, Id like to avenge my loss to Ward, but he doesnt really whet my appetite/Theres bigger fights for me/ The fans dont want it/ Hes at the back of the list/Ward doesnt bring any money/He cant make SMW anymore etc.

I mean it doesnt get any more blatant when your own promoter(the guy who actually makes your fights) says "yeah, we're not interested in that fight"

You cant get anymore black and white than that.

The concept that Ward has been unavailable for fights, and was using other fighter's names to keep his own name in the media spotlight during his inactivity is just too complex a concept for some people.

We may as well give up, we'd have better luck teaching a ferret to program in assembly.

Why would Froch WANT to fight Ward again, though?

For Ward - Froch would make a nice little tune-up fight, for sure.

But for Froch - Ward would pose an even bigger nightmare this time around. Too slick, too fast, too skilled, too smart.

Since when is wanting to see a fighter your a fan of travel abroad a matter of any importance whatsoever?

Of course Froch would be a tune-up for Ward. Anyone viewing it as anything else is either very naive or very British.

Yes a tuneup. Thats how much confidence I have in Ward beating Froch. Be it England, kandahar, France, Oakland,or Mugadishu. Styles make fights.

I'm concerned that all we're celebrating is an even longer interval before he returns to the ring

This was the best possible outcome, otherwise he would have been tied up for god knows how long in a pointless legal dispute.

Hopefully he doesn't waste anymore time and quickly sorts out an opponent instead of sitting on the side lines trying to get conjure up a big fight that may not exist. The best thing he can do now is just fight and fight often.

you're right, i'm out. froch was probably too polite about ward, he shoulda just said "let me know when he's available". turns out he's available just after froch says he wants chavez to close or he's gonna retire anyway!

Momentum doesn't mean much and Ward doesn't have to prove anything really, all he has to do is fight and he will remain #1 in the division unless he loses. If Froch insists on the fight being in England then that will just show that for some reason he isn't really all that interested in avenging his loss. The onus is on the losing fighter to chase the rematch.

I'm not a Ward fan but I would also like to see him fight Froch (or another good fighter) in their own back yard just to prove a point and because it would make it that little bit more impressive. Fighting someone the level of Froch in his comeback fight would be very impressive too.

winning fights abroad adds to the caché, but then we're renowned throughout sport for having great away support. your loss.

shame ward waited til his "tuneup" was safely retired before returning! (see? i can be trolly too!)

then encourage your boy to call him out! just because stb can't tell the difference between quillin and a fighter doesn't mean the rest of ward's fans can't!

Great news. I had a feeling that Roc Nation will become the major player the moment they announced their involvement in boxing.

Ward could quite possibly become one of the main faces for the new promo company. They'll also be able to secure him a decent or even big names for the opponents and good paydays as well.

However, I don't think that Roc Nation will be doing business with Al Haymon (it will probably be Haymon refusing business though), therefore unfortunately I don't think that we will finally eventually get to see Andre Ward vs. Andre Dirrell.
