I think he's been a massive let down when you consider how impressive he was against Kessler. Doesn't maximise his talents imo. A guy with his speed and technique should have people eager to watch him. I mean did he really need to just smother up Alan Green? Ok win at all costs but he could have put on a show against a guy like that.

Dawson needs to fight Pascal. (I think he beats Cloud) He could then go after Cleverly though I doubt Fwank would want that. Then it has to be up to Cruiser.

HBO refused Cloud as an opponent and he took a better paycheck to fight Tarver.
I'm sure a Bradley fan as yourself can relate to that Dave:yep

Yeah it is a bit of a ***** move. I actually thought Ward might be a bit of a throw back and would fight anyone. I didn't expect the Bute fight to happen straight after he beat Froch, but I expected a gimme before a mega fight. But he hit doesn't seem interested.

If he intends on ducking Bute (who will have a lot of problems with Froch, which people are forgetting), he should move up and hand Dawson his arse up there. 175 is a horrible division at the minute. Pascal isn't very good, cloud was comprehensively outboxed last time out, and Chad is just asking to be outclassed.

Dirrell (the talented one), Bute (should he beat Froch), or move up. Those are his only options for me. Anything else and I'll begin to lose interest

That doesn't sound right. HBO paid silly money for the second Tarver fight, but the first was on Showtime. Showtime had said they were interested in the Cloud fight. Dawson went for Tarver.

The Bradley situation is entirely different. He's now fighting one of the two best fighters in the world for crazy money, rather than Khan, and without locking himself into further fights with a promoter he doesn't like.

Not like Dawson who's been fighting old men and lost the first time he faced a guy near his own age.

why is son of god a **** nickname flea?

think your over reacting Flea. Dawson said i would go to 168. Pretty sure if he hadnt Ward would eventually go to 175 and fight him.

did you say the same thing about Pacquiao when he faced De La Hoya, Cotto and Margorito? Did you praise floyd for going up to face Oscar and Cotto?

i thought the belts didnt matter???

Tarver had a rematch clause and please show me where Showtime showed an interest in the Cloud fight?

Dawsons resume is pretty impressive for todays standards.

He fought Diaconu. And who did he fight instead of fighting Cloud?

Don't think you're one to call anyone a cry baby. You're obviously upset he beat your boy Hopkins (told you he'd win btw). He's just beaten the #1 light heavyweight and is now willing to drain himself to 168 to fight a top 5 p4p guy who many see as a future hall of famer.

I actually want Ward not to make the same mistakes as those guys. Oscar and Cotto did all their best work south of where Floyd agreed to face them. If be more impressed if he'd faced them at a better time for them. They major cutting days were south of welter, they clearly peaked at 147.

'pretty sure if he hadn't' is your usual spurious reasoning. Let's go with what I'm referring to, which is what has actually been said. It's no biggie for Ward to move up 7lbs, especially against an average champion like Dawson. I am on record saying Ward would've owned B-Hop as well, before you try pulling that shizen.

As for S.O.G it's just stupid. I have been corrected before as I thought it was potentially blasphemous, but I've been assured it isn't.

For me, it goes no deeper than 'it sounds lame'. :good

As I said, the precedence here is Leonard-Lalonde, but you wouldn't know anything about that.

1- everyone thought Oscar would destroy Pacquiao. Hindsight is a wonderful thing to have

2 - Pacquiao fought Cotto 1 lb less than what Cotto weighed against Clottey

3- Apart from his warm up fight at 154, Margo was the welterweight champion at 147. Pacquiao beat him at 150

Dawson would have to cut half a stone to fight Ward (who is already a big SMW). The fight makes much more sense at 175 than at 168

How much does Dawson weigh fight night as it is? He looks to be in the 190s at least.

Yup. Cotto was the champ. He lost to Margo. He lost to Shane, he lost to Floyd.

I consider Floyd the best welter
