Ward is a ****ing joke. He can't draw for **** and tries to pretend that he's the ****. Froch made 7.5M for his rematch with Groves, which is more than Ward has made in his entire lifetime.
haha I acually thought I read wrong and thought that the WBA belt froch and grooves fought over was the regular WBA belt. But in FACT it's the same belt Ward defended less then 10 days before the Froch - Grooves 1 fight. This is corruption at it's finest. http://boxrec.com/title_search.php?title=WBASUP&division=Super Middleweight&SUBMIT=Go
Its odd that Ward hasnt got some of the fights, you would think he would have had. Ward didnt appear interested in Bute, which would have been the biggest fight that could have been made at SMW, he lost that one when it would have mattered most. Ward didnt get to face Andre Dirrell either. Ward has yet to face a top undefeated fighter or undefeated world champ and in my opinion, has not beaten a top prime SMW. I think its a weak era at SMW at the moment and Ward has a few options, but has not been in the Ring too often
Kovalev said he would fight him, Stevenson said he would fight him. I like Andre but the whole "nobody wants to fight me" is not strictly true.
And what exactly has his legal proceddings and his financial situation have to do with his ability as a boxer? Im intrigued. If you found out that the chef at your favorite restaurant had a gambling issue would you stop eating there?
Kessler was an unwell, double vision suffering, faded fighter, who had not been overly active. He was passed prime as noted that he was never the same after the Calzaghe loss, rocked badly in his next fight after, noted that his timing was not good in the Perdermo fight. Yet that faded Kessler, coming off a loss beat Froch. Froch was an old SMW before he fought Ward. The era is, in my opinion, not as strong as it has been many times before. Just imagine Froch against a prime Kessler.
If he had double vision, he would never have passed a medical. And what exactly would have happened when this "prime" Kessler faced Froch? Kessler was as good as he ever was against, certainly the first time. And Froch was also in his prime.
Ward toyed with Kessler and beat him up way better than Calzaghe did . He made Calzaghe so called "Biggest win of his career" look like It was nothing . Ward vs Kessler was a featherfisted beatdown and those are very rare to witness .
While I tend to agree with you about not caring about fighters money, still when discussing matches that do or dont get made the unfortunate reality is that business considerations have to be kept in mind. Noone wants to deal with a fighter in Wards position - not managers of other fighters, not promoters of other fighters and especially not networks who both hate instability in their programming schedule and dont want to get sucked into the middle of legal disputes. The issues between fighter and promoter put the schedules and careers of other people into turmoil too easily. Boxing negotiations are difficult enough without something like Wards promotional situation thrown into the mix.
Calzaghe beat Kessler in a way better fashion, no headbutts or excessive clinching just used legal boxing skills
Kessler had his moments against Calzaghe . Ward completely shut him out and embarrassed Kessler , didn't even let him win a round . The same Kessler that everyone was predicting would win the entire super six before the tournament even started . Kessler gets embarrassed and then excuses just start pouring in ! "Kessler was past his prime" "Calzaghe ruined Kessler"
