You're right : Ward was incapable to KO Froch and comparing Froch with Bute is a misleading .
Ward can only win points and wait 12 rounds based on Froch inablility to Ko Ward , and inferior speed and techique compared to Bute .

WARD KNOWS :

IF BUTE LIVER UPPERCUT CATCH HIM THEN - GAME OVER

If an adversary has no speed like Froch - then is easy to make points 12 rounds .

Bute is far more dangerous than Ward .
Ward can win only at points against Bute - but Bute can Ko Ward .
Rather Bute can loose with Froch - KO-ed by a lucky hit from Froch .
