It's worth noting that the Cleverly fight is off the table now. I agree that it was a fine fight that had a distinct purpose to serve. I'd like to see Andre get one more fight in to get some more rust off, but the way it's going, HBO may not bankroll one.
Oracle seats about 20,000. How many do you all think he sells this match? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm hearing whispers of returning, cap in hand, to Alexander Brand, or a fella called Erik Skoglund who I haven't seen. Sounds **** but he really is short of options right now, if he wants to keep the July 30th date.
As I understand it, HBO just isn't going to fund a Shabranskyy or Cleverly. I know he'll catch hell from some over fighting a Brand or Skoglund, but it won't be from me given the circumstances. He needs to get some more rounds in before Kovalev.
The rust has gone, trust me. He has boxed over 20 rounds, how many more does he need? Ward will be doing a lot behind in closed doors, just because he has a TV camera on him does not mean he shakes off ring rust. Ward is stalling, he don't want to fight Kovalev, he knows what's going to happen, he is just buying time.
andre ward aint scared of nothin dude just wants to milk another 2 mil in lil g protection money...hbo invested heavily in lil g letting him fight bums for 2 mil....so they had to pay andre to move away and stop mentioning lil g....ward just wants his money
It's possible Ward's demands are the reason there's nothing left in the pot for a semi decent opponent like Clev, but I have no way of knowing for sure so will give him the benefit of the doubt. Sorry state of affairs at HBO :-(
It could be with the passing of Ali they just got caught up however I am certain HBO will start pumping this soon bro. Ward looked great in his last fight so after this one there are no excuses for him, Krusher or HBO.:good I also hope HBO will keep pushing for Canelo & GGG:deal
