I disagree. I don't see anything remotely similar to Ward's style. I mean if I think about it, Ward has probably beaten fighters pretty similar in styles to Kovalev. Not precisely like Kovalev, but Froch, Kessler and Abraham have a style you can say is close enough imo. But I don't think anyone Kovalev has fought is close to Ward's style. Maybe Hopkins idk.

 

To me Kovalev always looked bigger. His bones and frame seem to be really big. But Ward is deceptively big as well.

 

I mean quality wise, there's not much between the two opponents but I still think Kovalev's got a smarter choice. For me, a better opponent for Ward would have been someone like Gonzalez or Shabranskyy. JMO.

Kovalev is clearly a step up for Ward. Froch's skills don't come close. Kovalev is more skilled and more powerful than any previous Ward opponent.

That's right. Somehow Ward managed to get in the ring with brawlers only and he strangely avoided slick opponents. :think

I'd agree with Kessler but not with others, still Kovalev is a LHW dude so that's a new territory so may as well try to fight a LHW fighter with at least a somewhat similar style. I think Shabranskyy and Gonzalez would have been better choices. But I guess it doesn't really matter, at the end of the day both guys will be huge step ups from anything they fought before.

The fight is happening. I couldn't careless who they fight next as long as they fight this year. People like you can never be real you act ward is really scared of kovalev. The man hasn't lost a fight since he was 12 is undefeated the last thing he is, is scared.

Kovalev hits very hard. Ward fears the pain. Otherwise he wouldn't need 3 ****ing tune ups. Not 1, but a whole 3 tune ups.
