How would this go down. Ward, although operating at the higher weight isn't that much bigger than Martinez (only 2'') and Martinez has a 4'' bigger reach than Ward.

It would make for a good superfight and considering people are clamoring for Pacquiao or Mayweather to jump up and fight Martinez then this fight should be equally appetizing.

one of the biggest challenges a fighter faces when moving up in weight is the risk of experiencing power they can't handle

and to be honest ward isn't that big a puncher, sergio can outbox him with his superior speed

speed and power won't be a factor in this fight i think Ward will outmuscle Martinez in the infight

Ward's a better technician, more versatile, and much stronger. He'd beat Martinez very decisively.

Ward is a good sized SMW, Martinez is a small MW/big LMW.

Not too keen on thsi fight.

and I argue that Martinez is too slippery and slick to let himself get out muscled

I see him jumping in and out winning the exchanges with his speed

Ward snaps his nose and totally outboxes him en route to a 12rd decision.

On paper its a genuine super fight

In reality , what would the weight difference do to Martinez ??? one would think with the skill set Ward has , plus a weight / size advantage its hard to see anything but a Ward shut out

Ward would smoother Martinez's offense sort of like Barker did, except that Ward has supreme in fighting. Ward would be so much stronger, the way he pushed around guys like Froch, Abraham, Bika, Martinez would just get bullied for as long as it lasted. Bad fight.
