I am interested to see how Ward's chin holds up against the big hitters at LHW. There are a few with some serious power and Stevenson is one of them as much as I hate him.
I would slightly favour Ward. Stevenson is getting on in years and was beaten by a journeyman. I didnt think Fonfara was a top LHW but he was able to put Stevenson down and go the distance. On the same note though, Ward does not seem to be interested in boxer movers and Stevenson is a boxer mover who can punch a bit. Ward didnt seem interested in facing Stevenson and maybe there was a reason for that.
Ward......... And by KO. I know that Ward is NOT the biggest puncher out there, but he's got a decent set of whiskers and would have a 5-10lb unofficial weight advantage fighting at the LHW limit. He smothers power shots with his inside game, and would be turning Stevenson like a ballerina in there. He lands that lead R hand, just once, and Stevenson on ***** street dreaming of 14 y/os he can molest.
Since WHEN is Ward a runner???? He does his best work behind the jab and counters power shots better than Holyfield. Smith lasted longer than Stevenson b/c he didnt sell out. Pimp would be looking to land something big and end up eating a flush counter R hand or a lead R hand while he's loading up his L.:-(
Fair post. My biggest concern is Ward has been dropped and on wobbly legs at SMW. And like you said Stevenson can punch.
Ward hasn't stopped a boxer fighting at his weight since 2009, and he has never stopped a good boxer fighting at his weight. Suggesting that he could stop Stevenson @175 is ridiculous.
