Andre Ward vs Alexander Brand on Aug 6th

Is this at 175?

 

Slow hands, akward footwork but he knows how to fight, must have been an amateur for 20 years, turning pro at 32. He's unorthodox, I don't think you can get a sparring partner to prepare you for him, he's a little like Chilemba.

I like Ward by decision, but Brand is a solid contender.

 

First Shabranssky said no, then Skoglund. Brand was 3rd option, but he was Ward's comeback opponent originally, so I'm glad he's making a check.

 

I wonder why they said no? Because Ward was promoted by JC Penny once again?

 

Chatting with a guy claiming to be from Shabranskys team on another forum. Said the offer was sub 400k (Barrera - I think - got 450k). Said they would have jumped at 400k... or even less providing the split was fair.

 

I don't remember hearing 400k for barrera...I thought I heard sub 300k for barrera....but prob def no more than 300

 

Brand sounds so unknown to me and I'm a hardcore boxing fan. What's this guy's background prior to this bout? Was he a construction worker or something?

 

nah....extensive amateur career and excellent record(apparently that means a lot around here)....turned pro very late...like 32 I think....rather weak resume but had a fight with badou jack and it was apparently very close

 

ok barrera did get 450k against ward...I thought it was less

 

aweful. they could have search the local cemetery for better opponents, a cab driver and a mall janitor died last week in Oakland

 

Oscar didn't like how the negotiations went with Cotto via Roc Nation for the Canelo fight. So they just bailed at the first offer without even much negotiating.

Why would a child errrr Son of God try and take food off another man's table effecting his ability to provide for his family?

Of course when his trainer was a parole officer he routinely cohersed prostitutes into giving him favors for not violating their parole and sending them back to prison.
