Andre Ward vs Andre Dirrell

I'll be tihe heavy minority in this, but im taking Dirrell in the 3rd round. Faster, stronger, and a tougher matchup stylistically.

 

Dirrell SHOULD win but Ward WOULD win....Dirrell's timidity would do him in, IMO.

 

This is one of the more interesting potential matchups in the tournament, imo. Not sure at this point, frankly, how it would turn out.

 

I think Ward is a more polished fighter, and speed wise him and Dirrell are on the same page...At times, it seems like Dirrell cant keep his composure, on the other hand, Ward stays focused. I think Ward by either UD or late stoppage.

 

Totally undecided on this. Like I said before, Dirrell is more gifted, but he's gotta do more. I believe he will though. Hopefully he learned his lesson, but hopefully not to the point where he will engage way too much, he needs to keep his style exactly the way it is, minus the holding. I have no problem with his movement, the other fighter needs to deal with that, the holding is what's killing him.

I think Ward is just stronger in Dirrell's weakest areas, i.e. ring control, clinch control, footwork, etc. etc. But Dirrell is explosive man, his speed is a game changer that would be a great fight to see

 

..and most importantly: FOCUS.

 

Ward wins because of the difference in mental strength. Dirrell underperfomed against a limited Froch, Ward fought his best fight in the biggest fight of his career. Both have the tools to beat each other, I just feel that Ward will make better use of his.

 

Ward would win almsot every round against Dirrell, maybe stop him.

Dirrell is really bad, Ward is really good.

 

Dirrell is more naturally talented IMO, but Ward is smarter and sticks to his gameplan better. For now I'd say Ward takes this by decision.
