Problem I see with this is the complete aversion Ward has with fighting outside the US. He is one of those favoured fighters who won't fight unless he is in his comfort zone in terms of location, refs and judges. This fight is only big in the UK where it could draw pretty well on PPV, don't see the same in US. That might lead to difficult negotiations, who knows I wouldn't mind seeing this fight if it does happen. Bellew won't outbox Ward but have no doubts he could hurt him if a clean shot lands.
I dont think Ward can handle that kind of power. Bellew is absolute garbage who beat a guy with 1 leg in Haye but he does hit ok and for Ward I dont see him ahndling that kind of power
Not a fan at all of Ward moving up.... light heavy has plenty to do why not stay there? Adonis, Beterviev, Smith, all fun fights. Why fight guys you shouldnt be in the ring with in the first place, and take L's you have no business taking? Anyways, I suppose IF he is going to move up, Bellew is indeed the perfect opponent. Honestly, if he beats Bellew, and hes going to try and build momentum at heavyweight, might as well target Haye after that. Would give him a good opportunity to taste big power and decent speed but Haye is faded enough now that its very winnable for Ward. Then again Haye could blast him out too, but if Ward isnt beating an injured, inactive, faded former cruiser like Haye, at this point, hes not gonna beat anyone of note at the weight. Bellew, Haye, then his foolish attempt at a champion, and then call it a day? Not a fan of the idea but thats probably the route he should take.
